At this point, speaking for the general public thinking of jumping in. In my opinion it is too small a chance for any life changing profits to be made, even if I or anybody on here dropped $1000 (which is more than most are willing to invest) on BTC while it is at $10,000, and BTC went up to $15,000 (which IMO is pretty unlikely anyways) you'd only make $500. That is $500 possible profit, with a more likely chance of losing $1,000 if everybody panic sells.
And yeah, I or you can sit here and whine that we didn't jump on the badwagon earlier, I had nearly 1 BTC back when it was worth $600 and lost it because of the Mintpal issues. So I can sit here and say, well sh.it I'd have a nice $9,000 right now if that didn't happen, but to be honest that probably wouldn't even be the case.
When BTC jumped to $2,000 knowing myself I probably would have used that as my mark and sold. Nevermind all of the other spikes it had, and the temptation of selling.
Even when I had almost 1 BTC when it was at $600 it wasn't any life changing money I was going to be making, and it was still a pretty large investment on something extremely volatile.
The chance for life changing money to be made has long passed in my opinion. Yeah if you bought a bunch of BTC back when it was worth pennies, great. But there is a very very very small percentage of people that would have held it to this point.
Looking at BTC realistically, for the general population it is a way to "get rich quick" I'd say 90% of people jumping on have no clue how it even functions, nor do they care. They are just buying for the chance to sell later and make a quick profit. Which makes me hesitant to look at it as a realistic investment, because although there are many uses for it, I don't see it catching on any time soon. People still have a hard time adapting to online banking, how can I fathom them grasping this technology and actually putting it to use in the foreseeable future?
Anyways, I honestly hope the miscers who got in early and are still holding do make a lot of money. But some of the posts about people getting in now and investing a couple hundred dollars thinking they are going to be billionaires is just lol. To get rich off it now, you're going to have to either already be quite wealthy to put in a large enough initial investment. Or be a complete gambler and put a bunch of your savings into it.

There are plenty of other investments that while probably not having as much of a chance to rise as substantially in a short period of time, are much safer.
Your point if you would call it that, of "profit is profit" does not apply here, as my argument is that it is too volatile to justify risking a large amount for what in my opinion isn't a large enough reward anymore. So please, do not tell me about my "wrong mentality" when the only thing you can reply with is a vague guess on what an anonymous user on the internet would rather spend their money on, and some general statement that has no application to what I said.
Why would I consider putting my money into bitcoin every week if it was not something I believed in? Suggesting me to do that, and telling me any thought otherwise is "the wrong mentality" is terrible advice.

How easy is it to cash out on BC? I have a feeling it’s gonna grow so much attracting people investing a lot of money in it then suddenly bubble burst and people will be left with literally nothing. Who would you complain too then?
I have a feeling it’s all part of a bigger plan to fk people over. Might be wrong though. We shall see

What happens when heavy investment institutions buy in bulk for a short term gain and the prices sky rocket? As it begins to stagnate people begin to worry that it will fall down and all it takes is for a heavy investor to cash out and then the price will decrease severely. Such a price fall would turn into an avalanche since everyone would want to keep what they've earned or at least secure their initial investment.

1) Encourage mortgage's and bank loans to buy Bitcoin with the chance of low interest repayment via installments.
2) Sell in bulk with other major investors after a while.
3) Watch people lose property and assets as collateral as Bitcoin plunges down.
4) Buy cheap and resell the foreclosed properties/assets.

Nasdaq is set to launch bitcoin futures
Nasdaq is hopping on the bitcoin bandwagon.
The exchange operator is set to launch a bitcoin futures product next year, a person familiar with the matter told Business Insider.
Two Chicago-based exchanges, CME and Cboe, have announced their own bitcoin futures products. Such products would allow investors to bet on the future price of bitcoin. They would also likely dampen bitcoin's spine-tingling volatility and help the coin further push into the mainstream.
The move appears to be a change of tune for Nasdaq, which has been less bullish on crypto than other Wall Street firms. Adena Friedman, the firm's CEO, described initial coin offerings as "bleeding edge" in October.
"Nasdaq doesn’t tend to get engaged in the bleeding edge," she added.
Bitcoin has been on a tear since the US Thanksgiving holiday, blowing past $10,000 on Monday and then $11,000 on Tuesday.
It is up more than 900% year-to-date.

what are you guys using other than coinbase? I downloaded the app which is nice for real time price etc. But everything says the fees to sell are crazy high.
So what are you guys using to buy/sell that is REPUTABLE/INSURED...and are you linking to a bank account (create a new checking account with several grand "play money") and sync it to the botcoin site/app?
I want to be able to buy and sell and have the transaction hit my bank account by EOD. Is there anything out there site/app wise that allows this?
Also what is "cold storage" and how does it differ from having your money in an app like coinbase?
