~~~~Meditate Every Day of December Challenge~~~~
Goal:
Sit down for, at minimum, ten minutes everyday and just meditate. Do this for all 31 days of December. Wake up a new person for the new year!
Benefits:[ul]
  • Reduces stress
  • Decreases anxiety and depression
  • Improves concentration
  • Improves immune system
  • Able to handle sporadic stressful environments
  • Control your impulses better
  • Increases focus
  • More relaxed in general
  • [/ul]
    The Simplest Way to Mindfully Meditate
    Sit down on a chair. Close your eyes and focus on your breathe. Every time a thought pops into your head, just acknowledge it. Don't dive further into the thought. Just acknowledge that you had a thought a move back to focusing on your breathe. Each time you do that, it's like you're doing a bicep curl for your mind.
    There are apps that have guided meditation that can help; such as Headspace. Or you can choose a guided meditation video on youtube.
    For just ten minutes a day for 30 days, you could change your life. Just 30 days! We're all going to make it
    Some Real Life Inspiration From a Fellow Miscer:
Ive been meditating for a year straight at least 4-5 times a week, sometimes every single day for about 10-15 minutes.
    I'll succinctly put it this way, when you meditate consistently, the result is that it feels like nothing ever phases you IRL. I don't know the science behind it but i can only feel the effects. Before, i used to have a tendency to overthink but now im always just trying to be in the present moment, fully. For example, if someone displays an outburst of anger at me, it doesn't knock me off a relaxed and non-judgemental state whereas before i would be affected by their emotions by becoming angry back or i might be intimidated or i might respond with violence etc. But now, it's like i have total control and mastery over my own emotional state to the point where others emotions don't influence me in any way. I am in total control and not being controlled by my primal, emotional side or external factors.
    It sort of gives you an extra layer of thinking, like you're able to have a third person monitor how you're feeling at any given moment and that third person is a kind, gentle person who always reminds you to be compassionate.
    I can understand why those buddhist monks that meditate for 3+ hours a day literally look like they have absolutely no stress in their lives. Can you imagine harbouring angry and negative feelings at someone like this? I'm guessing most of you said no, meditation taught the buddha to let go of all attachments & expectations and radiate only compassion, kindness and true genuine care for people.
    Easiest form of meditation is to focus on your breath. You can't quiet thoughts, you can only redirect that consciousness into a controlled form. Aka focusing on your breath.
    I also like to meditate on God. Replace all thoughts with thoughts of God and be still in His presence.
    Which begs the question WHY you did not keep at it. I can't think of anyone trying meditating and getting it down to a routine saying it was not a positive experience. Yet so many of them fail to keep at it as part of their lifestyle. I really want to experience the benefits of mediation and be disciplined enough to stick with it.
    No but I'm on that LD time. You ever used the galantamine/choline/alpha GPC stack during a WBTB? If not get on amazon and order all that chit, makes LD'ing 100x easier.
    Im in. Ive been trying to develop this habit for the past 2-3 years with no success. Most of the successful people I look up to do it.
    When we wake up in the morning, we have two simple choices. Go back to sleep and dream, or wake up and chase those dreams. Choice is yours
    I prefer not to use supps, I have plenty of success with LDs without them, but vividness varies. I hear a lot of good things about galantamine and choline, but I have yet to try them. Any chance of growing used to them so they lose their effectiveness, or losing dream vividness by coming off below normal state?
    I do typically use WBTB when intentionally trying for long LD chains. What have you noticed differs when you take that stack vs not taking it?
