It depends on people not going to the gym and paying just enough per month to not close the account, and when you go to close the account, they make it a big PITA. They intentionally appeal to those who will sign up and never go. Giving out pizza, bagels, etc helps to make sure those who do go, don't see any results. Genius and D bags are not a mutually exclusive term

Mine too. He doesn't look like a washed-up meathead to me. Rather a person who doesn't know much about training, and perhaps someone who waxes his balls and/or bleaches his *******. Certainly not the sort of gym owner I'd take seriously.

Nonsense. Worked in and around gyms for 30 years, and that was not the model for a single one. There are some chains that have that model, not a one I'm aware of takes it to the level of PF however. I have memberships to two chains right now (Anytime and LA Fitness) and they operate nothing like PF. Never had a Golds, nor a Worlds, etc follow that model.

But most are the sort of "I'll pay $10-30 a month and get my money's worth by working out once a week". PF's is "I'll pay $10 a month and get my money's worth by getting free pizza and bagels once a month". See the difference?

WTF!? How is this reality? Do they refund your membership fees if they shame you out? Do they also sound the alarm when a hot woman shows up, making the other women feel bad about their bodies?

This is a guy who overheard a couple PTs in a sunny holiday area talking about how many people slack on their contracts and this leads to fewer times going per $$ paid to the gym.

He put it together and became rich.
