Actually I don't know anyone who owns Crypto unless young guys and usually they don't have good careers. It's just a form of high-risk gambling but better odds than wasting your money on the lottery or an old fashion pyramid scheme.

I think what a lot of you guys are missing is the technology behind bitcoin. If you can get an understanding on blockchain and how it works, you can see the potential for it, and how it becomes usable.

There will be a correction, the price is super inflated at the moment, stop shilling it to everyone because they will end up getting ****ed at some point, and selling at a loss and you'll feel guilty.

Its a great investment if you really believe in the technology and bitcoins future. The problem is, too many people look at it as an exponential revenue stream, and then convince everyone its the easiest and most sure money in the world. When in reality they have no idea how it works or what it does.

can this technology be improved on, say in a bitcoin 2.0, or are there even current Cryptos with better tech/usability?

From what I understand it's main use is not as a currency but as a storage of value. Even then, can it not essentially be copied or even improved on?

Lots of attempts have been made, and are currently being made. But bitcoin has the respect of the CME, CBOE, and NASDAQ, and those dudes basically control the world when it comes to money.

There are lots. Btc just has first mover advantage and hits mainstream first (or has hit mainstream 1st)

I guess I don't understand why it would have long term value then if other currencies can be created in parallel with it. Couldn't the Fed make their own crypto that was inflated on par with the USD?

ETH's fork occurred 11/16 when companies were breached by Russian hackers. BTC analyst def frowned upon ETH incline, guess out of spite.

I can't survive without BTC it's integral for blackhat marketing, as is ETH / LTC since most vendors don't want to trade nothin else beside gaypal.

I fuks with BTC doe. I prob traded over 5k in BTC this year alone and never thought about keeping chit.

It is more laughable that some people depend soley on bitcoin and have them as their ONLY investment. srs

I've been fukkin with another form of cryto called mkt coin since summer, and off a $400 investment i am getting a return of $20 dollars a week into my account where i can use those returns to buy more cypto.

not sure exactly how it works but there is a guy i know who is into it and had it all set up for me, I just thought at $400 dollars to buy i could give less a chit if it didn't work. almost have $400 in returns i am going to redeem for some MKT coin(not through coin base)

Yep. Thats why ive said i believe the space is forever transient. I mean its kind of how alts started - copy btc,make improvements, etc.

People can just copy the #1 crypto's tech and add in some stuff.

Unless you have a crypto that can cover all facets

There still COULD be a winner, or winner(s) though

I remember the guys being all over it and talking about how many they had

Honestly, btc had to have started out sketchy. I dont believe people were that fortituous; to picture it being legitimate some day, or worth what it is now. They prob used it for illicit purposes and just happened to have a stash.

I remember almost doing it because it was essentially 0 risk at its price, but i was a poverty college student

I think the same thing about it as I did when I first heard about it. No interest then, no interest now. I'm pretty lame when it comes to investing though, I don't like to ride rollercoasters.
