Compare the size of North America in 2007 and 2012. These are official NASA images. I'm not saying I'm a flat earther, but every picture of the earth looks like straight-up CGI.

There's a whole range of topics that flat earthers bring up. For example, how do satellites function in the thermosphere where temperatures reach 2,000 degrees celsius, past the melting point of many of their components? Why has no human ever circumnavigated the globe across the South Pole? Why does the horizon rise to eye level no matter how high we go, whereas on a sphere it would drop? How did humans travel 250,000 miles to the moon in the 60s but since then no human has gone more than a few hundred miles away from earth? Not to mention that there have been repeated experiments done by flat earthers on water and dessert planes which show no observable curvature.

Lastly, watch this video of Apollo 17 blasting off from the moon and tell me if this looks real to you. Who are the real crazy ones?

Nearly every single flat earther had the same reaction you're expressing when they first heard that people who believe the earth is flat actually exist. After researching it obsessively for the past few months I'm starting to seriously doubt that we live on a spinning ball.

So if the sun is much closer, does that mean Mercury and Venus is as well? If the sun is much closer, then i guess we will have to throw out what we know about physics and refigure out how fast light travels. If the sun is much closer than ~93 million miles away, then light doesnt take 8 min to reach earth at 186k mph. Why hasnt earth coalesced into a round shaped under the direction of gravity, like every other celestial body?

In order to even contemplate the possibility of flat earth theory, you need to consider the possibility that everything we've been told about gravitational physics is a hoax with formulas created based on presuppositions to support the globe earth model. To put it bluntly, flat earthers do not believe that gravity exists. They do not believe in planets, stars, solar systems, and the entire concept of space either. They believe that everything NASA and other space agencies have released since the moon landings is fake. They believe that space agencies are controlled by Freemasons who have been intentionally deceiving humanity for centuries.

Flat earthers do not believe that the South Pole exists. They believe the center is the North Pole with the continents located around it, and the "edge" is Antarctica which is an ice wall. We don't know what's beyond the "edge" because there is an international treaty in place banning anyone from exploring Antarctica.

Not quite sure how applying a real, proven flight path to a fictitious map disproves my point. The point is, the airplane DOESN'T fly in a straight line at all, it flies according to the Earth's curvature to make the path more efficient in fuel consumption and time. There are empirical ways of measuring the small heading changes that the airplane's autopilot continuously makes to follow the curvature.

Surely if the Earth were flat, a pilot could just dial in a single heading and it would remain the same throughout the entire flight until the destination is reached, but it doesn't, it changes continuously to maintain the flight path, which is calculated according to the curvature of the Earth.
