I posted a helpful warning a few days ago and was met with "lolokbrah." Cliffs of my concerns:
-reports that 1k ppl own 40% of market cap and they all communicate with eachother
-no regulation, it is widely reported insider trading runs rampant
-these 1k ppl, or even less, can coordinate when to crash the whole thing by selling
-now that futures are trading, they can coordinate a short and profit from the crash as well
-reports also show that these 1k insiders hire shills or shill themselves on msg boards--chances are very good that someone hyping bitcoin on misc is hired to do so
TL;DR a few ppl are going to get very rich off of bitcoin: insiders and lucky ppl

Anyway.. I wish you knew how ignorant this sounded. Congrats on buying this and having it 3,000% but you're about as impressive as a guy who's way up at the craps table at a casino right now. Bragging only makes you look bad about it. Super happy you made that, just trying to keep you educated.
I'd seriously consider walking away with that giant win if I were you.

Educate yourself man. The threads linked in the OP are FILLED with pages and pages of extremely experienced and knowledgeable posters on investing forums talking about bitcoin.
You're filling your posts with confirmation bias. There are hundreds of educated posts on Bitcoin as an "investment" yet you're ignoring all of those and quoting the one guy who didn't understand withdraw trying to act like you know more. That's confirmation bias. Read up, educated people are discussing it in those threads.

There's no reason bitcoin should be valued over gold. Gold is superior to bitcoin. Bitcoins only value comes from it's use as money. Gold is objectively superior to bitcoin as money as it doesn't rely on a massive electronic infrastructure to work, there's no trail of transactions (ledger), I can go into the woods and trade someone my gold for something and nobody would know, it can't be destroyed in fire, water, or naturally occurring elements. Can be melted down and recombined into larger/smaller pieces without losing value. Gold also has intrinsic value as it's use as a metal in electronics and as jewelry, not just as money. There's a reason gold was used as money for thousands of years. It can be traded digitally just like bitcoin now too. Literally the only reason bitcoin is currently valued over gold is because of the hype and speculation. The market will correct itself.
Can definitely make a killing in the short term trading bitcoin, but I wouldn't hold it long term. IMO bitcoin should be valued slightly under gold, so around $1000 USD for a bitcoin. IMO the market correction will bring bitcoin to it's logical value...
(both gold and bitcoin are far superior to fiat currency btw)

Alright, you made this way too personal even after I said don't do that. You flat out sound like an idiot and I'd bet that even most of the bitcoin buyers in here would agree to that. Good luck man.

God you guys worry me. You're going to go broke if you step into this investing world without knowledge, serious. You can't chase things like that.. I'm super happy it paid off for you but cash out and walk away on something if it is a giant statistical anomaly and you won from it.

it is therefore, in many aspects, superior to gold as a convenient store of value.
however, it doesn't have the long tradition nor the intrinsic value that gold has. even if gold becomes worthless you can still make pretty, shiny things with it.
the same can't be said about intangible bitcoins, which would no longer serve any purpose. bitcoin isn't really backed by anything either, only naked trust. fiat money has no intrinsic value either, but it is at least backed by something that is inescapable: debt.

Trading bitcoin for short term gains is risky but huge rewards. I'll hold gold and silver long term over bitcoin though. We are 8+ years in a bull market. Over due for a recession, when the economy goes south, bitcoin will be the first thing people sell, and it will crash.

I still hold BTC and will never sell them. Most my BTC predictions have been right. Look at all my post history:
https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...post1484415481
Its just happening a lot faster than i predicted. BTC is going to 100k.

You seem frustrated people are doing things the way you won't and because of that they must be wrong, and you also sound like you are hoping for a big crash just to say "I told you so"
In the first few posts you sounded like you were legit and wanted to give advice and help which was fine, but now you've turned into what you posted above

What worries me are the guys here who think A) this is repeatable or normal or B) get greedy thinking it's going to continue so they bet too heavily on it. I know I'm a broken record but I encourage you and all of you to read the threads I posted in the OP.
I've had buddies who think like that then they lose everything and find themselves depressed and don't want to see you guys like that.

I know it is very risky, but it would need to crash to around $4000 and never come back up for me to lose money. I don't think that will happen any time soon

1) posts like yours do more harm to the overall population than good. Do you realize how many guys have lost all of their savings not being educated, but reading posts like yours bragging (for your friend or anyone) about a 10k return on a 10k stock. They begin to think that's smart or normal and chase that, which leads to significantly worse results for them on average. Yes I'm frustrated but only because of the harm posts like yours do.
2) They aren't wrong because they aren't "doing what I'm doing", they're wrong factually and statistically according to history and methods that other people devised. It isn't about me, but someone picking certain stocks themselves hoping for something like a 10k return on a 10k investment short term is much more likely to lose their ass than someone who researched things on a real investing forum like the one I said. It has nothing to do with them not "doing what I do" - it's that they're literally doing the wrong thing and it willmost likelyhurt them. Not always, but most likely.
Nobody knows where it will go but I am genuine with this warning lol. I'm super happy for those who made money but GUYS this roller coaster is going WAY too high.. I'm just worried for the few posters here who are over-invested, got a little excited, and don't know enough but deserve to do well. To them, my $0.02 is take your W and walk.
