Star Wars was like the one sacred series. It's honestly the Jesus of movie series. They had to do this didn't they.. Hollywood is getting out of control

Literally the only reason it got the money and success it's getting is due to the old movies, milking the old ones where they didn't jam political ideals down your throat.


Even with the bad special effects due to age, the older movies are stillso much betterit's not even funny.


If you guys really want to get sad about this, if you're ever at Disneyland or Disneyworld, check out that one attraction they have that's like a 15 minute cool racap of the entire series in the cool theater. The first 10 minutes with the first/older Star Wars is still extremely entertaining and awesome, the last few minutes with the newer stuff is like any non-memorable joke of a movie these days.

Jurrasic Park is going down the drain too. I was tempted to say Lord of the Rings went down the drain due to aiming for a child audience, but technically The Hobbit was meant for kids so it just followed it's theme.

Just saw it, its every bit as bad as OP says and then some.

Turned into a fken marvel, political, PC, kids movie.
Plot was terrible, character progression was terrible.

Thinking back on it I'm even more disappointed because it had the potential for greatness. There's a greater overarching theme of loss and sacrifice, and the entire premise of the movie is very bleak and depressing. Some interesting moments with Kylo Ren showing his reasons for turning to the dark side and over-all good character building for him.

It could have been a darker and more grown-up entry in the saga, but then they go and completely ruin it with a constant barrage of tonally insensitive comic relief, a bunch of cuddly furry creatures that are very obviously only in the movie to sell childrens toys for christmas, nonsensical writing and of course the aforementioned PC propaganda.

Such utter fuking bullchit. This might be the last time I see Star Wars in a theater and I'm a huge fan. Just can't support this garbage anymore

It was slightly funny the first time he did the "holding" thing, but they pushed it way too far and it completely destroyed any tension when they kept dragging it out. When he dropped the "ur mum" at the end I was flabbergasted, it didn't even make any sense. So fuking stupid.

They're shooting themselves in the foot by setting up one of the two surviving villains as a bumbling buffoon, because when Kylo inevitably turns there will be no one for him to fight. The saga lacks a good villain, while the original trilogy had some of the greatest movie villains of all time.

I thought it was chit, but not for the reasons OP said. I noticed all the lib stuff at first but it all faded away after an hour or so.

I liked the Force Awakens alot, even though it was not original it was well done, fun and told the story well.

This one was convoluted chit. The characters seem more hollow or less dimensional than the first one. Everytime they went back to Po and Rose's adventure I was bored because I felt like it didn't really matter. The movie felt like it was over 3 hours long and I don't think the director knew what he was doing at all.

It's truly disappointing because I thought there were alot of great scenes and interesting shots, and then it all fails. I was excited when Finn was going to become an hero, then he gets saved even though he doesn't do anything at all.
