I never understood why the prequels sucked so much harder than the originals considering Lucas was the director? Is there some kind of story to that? Did his production crew not see eye-to-eye with him and everything just ended up a mess? Those movies weren't as horrible as this recently one but they seemed like a completely different person other than Lucas directed them.

There have already been indicators from Rian Johnson that he had a longer cut initially, and that whole sequences were cut out.

So what could these be? The trailers and behind the scenes are our usual go-to sources.

First of all, this shot of Rey running on Achto with lit sabre isn't in the film:


Finn never wears this pilot outfit in the film.


Chewbacca on the Raddus.


Finally (for now at least), there was this shot of Rey with her hood up.

In Star wars lore you cannot hyper ram, it's just not how it works. The second you accelerate into hyperspace you're intangible save grave wells and dropping out of it ****s you up not what you hit. Solves the problem of running into a pebble/space junk at lightspeed.

his wife worked on the first 3 films and contributed to/edited the films. Supposedly she made a lot of the changes to the first films that people liked so much about them plus Lucas followed a fairly straight forward and repeatable theme for the first film

What are you even talking about. Great movies are ones where the critical response matches the public response. Meaning, everyone is generally in agreement that it was a quality flick. Not one where the critics get paid to praise it at 95% and the audience across all platforms give it a 50%.

How did she even make a jump to lightspeed? They said at the beginning they only had enough fuel for a single jump and then they'd be dead in the water. So how is it even possible she had enough juice to make make a jump 18 hours later when the ship was running on fumes

What i stated isn't an opinion. It is a measurable fact that you can go lookup. I thought Bradley Coopers Burnt movie was excellent, but it certainly doesn't fall in the "Great Film" category based on verifiable data. Opinion ... meet fact.

I thought the same thing. Other sci-fi books deal with light speed, planet killing objects, so what she did makes sense. But I agree with what you said. If that chit was possible this whole time I'm sure the rebels would have been willing to spend a few ships to slam them into the death star

I'll tell you what makes zero sense...

Rey and Kylo are having that lightsaber force stand-off ... then ... some time passes and everyone is down on the planet... when... Rey comes flying in with the Millennium Falcon.

Unless i was asleep ... which i don't think i was .... they just completely skipped how she got from the First Order ship to back on the Millennium Falcon. Which is weird because they didn't skip all the cringy Finn and Asian chick nonsense.

If that's possible, why not just strap a warp drive onto a missle and destroy it from the other side of the galaxy. Or why build a deathstar in the first place if you could just sling asteroids around at lightspeed and nuke planets that way

In Star Wars they use Hyperdrives to travel at hyperspeed, through Hyperspace which is a different dimension.

-someone had a dream about Star Wars where there was all this crazy stuff happening at once but nothing was ever really connected or meaningful. That’s what it feels like. A mashup of ideas that went nowhere, like a dream.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Chewbacca came out of nowhere driving the Death Star at this point

TLJ is basically glorified fan fiction. george lucas didn't write it or have any role in it so it might as well have been written by anybody.

lucas created star wars, if someone buys the franchise from him, they have the rights to make the movie, but it would be the same if disney finished GoT. not written by the original author, so all it can ever be is high production value fan fiction.

This describes the problem with the script well IMO.
Lots of the characters lack motivations for the way they are acting. They got no background, they are just there. The sudden turns are never foreshadowed. Hours of subplots exist that lead nowwhere.

SJW stuff and them butchering the franchise is something one can have opinions on. The script being pretty chaotic and not making much snse not so much.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but all the complaints seem genuinely convincing. I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan like that, but I appreciate it, just sickening how they ruined Star Wars. I think we all seen this coming though, the moment Lucas gave it up. It was bound to happen one way or another.
