Does posting a new photo, IG photo, or status update bump you to the top? Does it take Instagram stories into account or just photos?

From what i remember It shows when you matched, your matches' new IG posts, and their new Tinder pics, in chronological order. You can opt out of certain things so your tinder matches do not see your updates. i do not recall seeing IG stories though.

Correct, and also if they get a new anthem/Spotify stuff. You can opt out of any of them individually (with the exception of showing a new match). Currently no IG stories, just new photos, and the feed is in chronological order.

I've opted out of it all, and can't be bothered to scroll through the feed - there's nothing interesting about it IMO. It's all stuff that's found in your matches' profiles because they have to have those features connected. Essentially it just shows you whenever a match updates anything in their profile except for their bio, and saves you from regularly checking them all individually.

Maybe it would be good if you are really good with IG and are putting up interesting new stuff all the time. I don't give a chit about my match's new mirror selfie or photo of the sunset though.

Having looked at my FB's IG messages (she's about an 8/10) and knowing that this is one of the thirstiest cities in the western world, I can tell you that she was getting ~12 DM's a week from guys she didn't follow (so into the 'message request' folder) and she has it linked to Tinder.

That's not really that many, so most guys aren't hammering it yet. It would probably only be about 2-4 DM's a week in most US cities.
