If it requires the power of concensus it is an opinion, not a fact.

Enshrining opinion in law does not turn it into objective fact, neither does it change everyone's opinion.

Totally agreed. It's funny to see people that have been into fitness for many years get annoyed with the fitness industry as a whole. Misc was amazed with bodybuilders back in the day, but when fitness fanatics (i.e. crossfitters) and aesthetics hijacked it some got annoyed buy these people becoming philosophers and athletes because they lift. It's funny really.

it annoys the phuck out of me because i wish i wasnt so self conscious i could post nothing but good lighting jacked selfies and somehow get paid to do it. if i posted the first shirtless picture of myself on IG i feel like all my high school friends would cringe to death. i care too much about how im perceived, and i don't want people to think im so incredibly vain, even though i am.

It's like anything going mainstream. The people who did it first and enjoyed being called whatever name, now hate that others do it too and it's no longer cool because it's mainstream.
