Pretty much everyone I know above >40 age with no kids is a weirdo. Guys at my workplace, people at the gym, etc.

I actually enjoy the independence in my 20s and toddlers annoy the **** out of me. But IMO being 40 and all alone must also kinda suck

Although I do appreciate those of you that raise the women my boys will someday use for sexual gratification. You are doing gods good work.

These. Have fun being on your deathbed not surrounded by loved ones because you would rather chase money and random pussy that means absolutely nothing in the end. Most people in their final moments express regret for not devoting more of their lives to a family and their loved ones. I'm sure a lot of people will reply to this with typical misc bull**** "lmao w/e I'll be dead anyways who give a fuk?" as if you know exactly how you will feel when you're old. Years and possibly decades of loneliness all leading you to dying alone on a deathbed with nothing but your final thoughts on your mind. Youwillregret it.

And also to the people giving the usual talk of "don't want to raise a kid with the way the world is" well then raise them properly. As if you think raising a child and instilling good values is something entirely out of your control.

Sounds like some classically narcissistic behavior. What a jerkwad.

Two, I see moms are in love with their kids and I think they bring them a lot of happiness. So sometimes I long for that feeling of being in love and happy that kids bring other people. But I don't want the kids themselves just the feeling lol.
Not even going to touch point one, lol, except to say you're not wrong, having children to many is the only way to 'complete' a family.

Find love and joy in other ways, if that's what you're craving and missing. I do find it interesting that I often hear parents say they have more 'joy' while CF people say they have more happiness. Kind of like when a parent says "Oh yes our child is disabled but she's a blessing and a gift!" Okay yes I'm sure your child is a 'gift.' And tell me, how is your relationship going with your spouse now that one of you is a 24/7 caretaker? Very rarely do people say kids have made them happier. They do say their children gave them purpose, joy, fulfillment. Rarely happiness (long term.)

Just an observation. In for negs from the happiest parents with the most perfect marriages ever. Happens every time someone makes these threads. lol

Having children is not hard. Taking care of small children is not hard.

Going to restaurants with small children is not hard.

Nor is movies, church or anything else.

It's no more difficult than going by yourself.

LOL.

What.

Tell me more about how going out to dinner with toddlers is no more difficult than going by myself.

I'm sure kids are amazing, taking them out is super cool, but for real. This feels...dishonest. lol

We trained the kids quite early to act appropriately in restaurants tbh. The second they squealed or raised a voice they were removed ..also not phones or tablets at the table.

Yeah it was tough to begin with but didn’t take long to be able to eat out with small kids even as toddlers

But for Leo to say it took no effort is ridiculous ...you gotta wonder who was doing all the childcare there

Um because if you raise them right they behave.

They aren't loud or all over the place. You tell them to go sit down and they do.

It's really pretty simple.

They can be happy go lucky all they want but a simple change of tone in your voice and they will snap back and be alert ( for example a shady person is walking towards you. A simple boys, with the right tone and they are listening, alert and ready to respond to what you say.)

I've only had one minor difficult moment in public raising three sons.

If you're a good parent you'll have good children.

I know nothing rustles certain people more than talking about children or having them as evidenced here in this thread. You could literally melt their world and I don't have children myself. I want some but not with any slag out there.

Pretty much this and I know this for a fact. I had two small children now I have two grown children.

My life has made a full circle and I am going to being essentially childless now that the kids are grown (20 and 15) and doing things on their own. The best of both worlds you might say.

When I was married my wife worked out of town three days a week in a row. I made sure 99% of the time I was off.

I was the sole caregiver those days and didn't just sit at home.

But we taught our children how to take care of themselves. By the age of 4 they could cook a yv dinner in the microwave if they were hungry. They could fix their own drinks.

None of them ever burned their hands. They never touched any type of poison or medicine.

Why??? Because I would carry them around and ask what's that? Poison Daddy. Do you touch it? No.

What's that? Hot daddy. Do you touch it? No.

We spent time with them and taught them but didn't coddle them.

It's not rocket science.

^^so it took effort to parent properly

Too many people act like parenting is easy ...it’s not, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worthwhile

Also that lie is part of the reason why there’s so many foul people in the world

It’s easy if you enjoy it. I never thought of raising my children as hard in the least. It was fun and exciting. The only thing that was hard for me was worrying about them.

Oh for sure, kids can absolutely be trained. Isn't that the end goal? My nephews are excellent when eating out but to say it's not any more difficult than going out with your spouse is laughable.

It should be done, and without phones/tablets so they can learn how to do so, but yeah. Small children and toddlers take work and it's hard at times (and surely more difficult than not having children) and I'm not sure how pretending it's none of those things is helping anyone.

I didn't see it as effort. It wasn't like it was a chore or a burden. You just randomly pick up your boy walk over to a candle get close and ask what's that?

Walk in the garage and point at weed killer. What's that?

I just incorporated it into everyday life. We go out to work on my equipment I show them.

I also taught them to drive cars and run commercial mowers at 3 and 4.

I think that’s the difference with us and parents who thought it was hard or difficult

It’s all about perception.

Yes I am a professional landscaper. I put hearing and eye protection on them.

Got on the machine put them in front of me (picture like a motorcycle) showed them the controls and they would run all over the yard with it.
They loved it and there was no danger. I was on it with them.

Same as when I was little and my Grandfather would take me flying in his Cessna. I would fly the plane. Do light aerobatics. Again no danger because he could always take over in the other seat.
Did you not put your kids on your lap and let them drive the car?

I also used to go to the golf course and the head pro would give me a cart and the boys would drive it all over the parking lot and to the driving range and back.
These are all very normal dad things to do.
