Leia Poppins was such a jump the shark moment. Who the f ck thought that was a good idea? Also the casino subplot was totally pointless and felt very prequelesque with the CGI overload. The capitalism diatribe there was rich coming from Disney. The purple haired chick, the fat Asian girl, Benicio Del Toro: all of these were needless characters who added nothing to the movie beyond serving diversity casting. Why not have Ackbar or Leia at the helm instead of purple haired chick we just met five minutes ago? Powerful self sacrifice rendered meaningless.

Growing up we had Arnold as Conan and the Terminator, Chuck Norris, Stallone, Harrison Ford, and the list goes on-- every time you turned on the TV, there were guys you could look up to andshouldaspire to be. Today we have Sheldon Cooper, Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, Harry Potter and the shining vampire from that ******* vampire romance series. Fatties, cucks, betas and *******s, that's who the next generation of men will be trained to idolize. And it starts with chit like this movie!
Ironman (RDJ), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Rufallo**), Thor (Hemsworth), Superman (Cavill), Spiderman (Erza), Deadpool (Ryan**), Batman (Affleck), Black Panther (Boswick/Micheal B Jordan), Wolverine/Logan (Jackman), Magneto (Fassbender), Roland (Idris), GoTG (Pratt), Wick (Keanu), FF (Rock/Disel), Nikolaj Costau (GoT), Golsing (Blade Runner/Drive). Each one of these actors have other works which solidify their acting credentials.

Add in characters like Patrick Jane (Punisher, 1922), Tom 'GOAT' Hardy, DiCaprio, Jake Gylenhall (Nightcrawler-Southpaw), Cillian Muprhy (Peaky Blinders), Skassgard Boys (IT - Vikings - Tarzan/True Blood), Hemsworths. For every modern Sheldon Cooper there was a Chandler Bing.

The narrative might have shifted from ubersmench MCs but there are still talented actors holding fort for young males. Furthermore, today's youth are gravitating to web media (Netflix) where shows those actors I mentioned get more shine. Kids don't wants to be Peter or Homer. Fundamentally SW has a terrible male characters and while it might attract it wont retain male fans - Kylo more like Hoe. Same can be said for Poe & the one which pissed me the most Finn? I expected Windu but he Dindu. There is absolutely no reason for a boy to have no heroes today. Unless they are willingly put in that environment at school and home - blame falls on parent as well.

Spoiler!
They Killed off Luke/They killed off Admiral Akbar/Leia survives the vacuum of space and flies back into a ship like Mary poppins/Rey (the main protagonist) continues to be a Mary-Sue/The main villain is killed off lackadaisically/There's a completely worthless and pointless 1 hour long comedic borderline slapstick side mission that was inserted into the movie to fill up time. The movie leaves nothing to the imagination by closing off the majority of loose ends but at the same time leaving a bunch of unanswered questions that will more than likely never get answered because the only characters who can answer them are dead. Its littered with plot holes based on lore inconsistencies and conflicting scenes from The Force Awakens....

it was just a cluster phuck of a movie from start to finish, and the only people that like it, just liked it for the pretty lights and the actions scenes.

I'll just say this, I've never seen the media go into overdrive to protect the reputation of a movie like what is going on with Star Wars.

[img]https://i.imgflip.com/21ah52.jpg[img]
Not sure how Del Toro is diversity casting. Clearly the most accomplished/talented actor in the film and will get in nearly every film on that merit, hence why I'm perplexed at how they used him. Unless he somehow plays a bigger part in the third film what an absolute waste.

Also what's bothering me are all the articles on news sites aimed at why the fans are wrong for disliking the film and why it's actually the best Star Wars ever. Are writers and critics really THIS disconnected from things? There's so many reasons I could list as to why it's a bad film (Zombie Leia, the slow chase, Luke's character, none of the questions from TFA being answered, Poe/Holdo, Canto Bight, the political themes, Vegan Chewie, Luke's death...etc etc). I've never really been a believer in companies paying reviewers for positive reviews, but damn, this is really challenging my stance on that.

Here's what I'm going to do: just go back to believing and following the old EU and completely disregard the new content. Hello Grand Master Luke!

What makes me sad to is Capt Phasma had such potential to be a complete badarse, what a chitty way to go, the writers could have done such a better job.

oh and yoda...OMG just the CGI/Puppetry mix bring back the OG Yoda!
Phasma could have definitely been wrote better. The only reason why i still have hope that Phama is in the 3rd is

1) they made a book about her, so why go through all that chit, just for Phasma to have her scene written out like she did

2) She took a blank hit to the face with a control baton that could withstand the heat of a lightsaber, which can be arguable that if her armor had that type of defense...

I highly doubt they outright pay reviewers since that's too risky and easily provable. Probably more like perks given out to the press that just happen to be given to the biggest fangays.

And ya, Disney totally cashing in on all the armchair social media resistance fighters that can't wait to stan and throw money at anything progressive even if it's trash. They also did it with marvel where they changed all the classic white guy heroes into women/minorities over the course of a year. Only going to be worse as Disney keeps acquiring more of the media.

Sucks that there's no way to get Disney to change their path on this movie. They'll make billions with their awful SJW piece of garbage with no plot and continue to do so. I'd just go ahead and give up on Star Wars, nothing will change.

While the prequels have their downfalls, this scene will singlehandedly make them 1000x better than TFA and TLJ ever will be.

This sequence was incredible the first time I saw this. That build up all movie for the final battle between Jedi and Sith. Brb Darth Maul's double-sided lightsaber reveal. Brb absolutely flawless and perfect musical score. Brb Qui Gon dies RIP.

True Star Wars.

tier of theme and importance of writing for this movie:

1) merchandising
2) SJW politcal correctness and appealing to mass audiences
3) flashy CGI and creatures
4) actual story writing and development.

I still cant get over the fact that the writers came up with NOTHING for the parents and NOTHING for the past of Snoke. Just lazy, awful, terrible writing. But hey, at least they made a new cuddly creature and cool red armored bodyguards for action figures and stuffed animals. ****ing joke, this movie, doubt I will even watch the last one unless i hear nothing but amazing reviews about it. The series is ruined with this movie, worse than ep 1 2 and 3

The funny thing about Poe's situation is this - as far as I can tell they have 3 options:

1) CGI Leia for the entire next movie so that we still have a POWERFUL FEMALE as leader of the resistance
2) Make Poe the leader of the resistance - after completely sh*tting on him and showing the audience why men suck
3) Introduce a NEW POWERFUL PURPLE FEMALE (AGAIN) as the next logical choice for leader of the resistance

Is there really anything else they can do? Ackbar is gone. Purple Hair is gone. Is it going to be Rey? LMAO because then we'd get our SUPER POWERFUL GURL JEDI who is also master pilot, mechanic, AND respected leader. Oh man...
Entire NYPD should go on strike. You'll see then how quickly the mayor changes his tone.

Time skip, which means they can kill Leia off screen and make Kylo stronger. Probably what they will do.

Pretty much the worst movie I've seen since Avatar. It's really a typical Disney animated movie storyline with the same type of comic relief that just doesn't belong. There was no attempt at making this a good movie and if you criticize the movie then "critics" just call you a fanboy, never mind the fact I'm actually a millennial that hasn't seen the originals until last year. The whole movie is an attempt to make you stop caring about the past star wars. It's simply disingenuous to call this Star Wars at all anymore. Episode 2 was better than this lol.

The only people who like this movie are the people who like the agenda. This movie is floating of brand recognition alone. I guarantee it will tank after today.

Edit: lol looks like I was right.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottme.../#7f45b41dc058

Edit #2: Actual written reviews put the movie as the worst star wars of all time where as mere numbered voting systems put it at ~7.5/10. There is clear fukkery going on.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2527336/...s?ref_=tt_ql_3

Edit 3: I'd also like to add that every male character had a strawman injected into their plot development for the sake of demeaning them. IT was foooking ridiculous. This movie was a direct attack on anything regarding masculinity. All men are just impulsive children.

I’ve heard some people say what if they bring Snoke and phasma back for the third movie.... either way it’s retarded. Brb introducing them again for “shock” value only to have them killed off again since it’s the last movie of the trilogy lol

They planned a major role for Leia for Ep. 9, unfortunately Carrie Fisher passed away, so they either have to replace her with terrible CGI a'la Rogue One or shoehorn in another female general of major renown. Good luck with that.

Agreed, it's going to be retarded.

Nobody cared about Phasma in the first place, she was a terrible comedy relief character in TFA, somehow survived those events after basically causing the destructon of Starkiller Base, and then got offed in TLJ. Snoke was hyped up as a mysterious character who could've been anyone, then he got offed as well without any explanation on his background.

At this point, my money is on:

A) a female sith/dark jedi/Force user who was supposedly orchestrating everything from the background and built up the whole First Order, possibly the founder of the Knights of Ren

B) a dead character who returned as a Force Ghost possessing someone/influencing the actual characters

Or both.

This review described everything perfectly. I'd say its actually funnier and more entertaining than the actual movie.

I, for one, am glad to see a Hollywood blockbuster with strong female leads. Young girls need role models, and Star Wars shows that a woman's strength and fortitude can win the day; men are finally depicted realistically, as impulsive and unreliable. They need the strength and constancy of strong females to guide them..........

Not srs. This is terrible, a fuarking joke. I was seriously rooting for the First Order to pull out a win, even if Kylo is the most beta villain in the franchise.
