it's purpose is for its use as a bridge currency, all you do by hodling is take a portion out of circulation and generating more demand for a supply. but would you actually have a use case for xrp? no, unless that use case is selling it on the market for gains in USD.

Im still retarded at the stop limits. For XRP, I wanted to hold but sell just in case it fell back to 8100.

The price was already at 8150, so above my worst case target. The price got all the way to 8300. I put in a limit order at 8100 thinking it would sell at 8100 as last resort. But it sold immediately at market of 8190.

Would the correct move have been put stop and limit at 8100?

Thing is i like icon long term and im in low so..

But i had 3x'd and was thinking i should cash out.but i waited, and then it fell to 2x, and i literally went to cash out but didnt have 2fa with me.. So i didnt, and then once i got 2fa it rose again and i just sat there watching it not doing anything

No idea how you guys hold when i could have taken profits and gotten back in cheaper

my understanding is that limit orders aren't stop losses its just a command to sell X at Y price. so if market price is above your limit sell it will sell for the market bid that matches closest to it. in your case the market already had a last bid @ more than you put your order up for so it was gobbled up by the buy order wall.

stop loss's are a different type of order that work in the reverse and sell x if price falls to Y. Not all exchanges support stop loss orders, and they are more common when trading margin IIRC.

edit: seems like you have stop loss orders on your exchange? So if you set just a stop loss, and no limit you would be fine I would think.

Fine but it's your own risk. I was looking at low market cap coins that have low traffic on binance and tbh REQ, CDT and FUN were the coins i was going to buy for my weekly HODL and see what happens. Also i have been looking at POWR alot recently.

Fuel and AMB were going to be my buys yesterday $500 each but decided to go with XLM instead since it hasnt had a real rise in a while and it still didnt today

Anyways take it what you will and dont blame me if anything bad happens.

Yes the stop should've been 8100. And the limit below that (lowest price you'd be okay selling at)

1) taxes---if you cash out most of us get hit close to 35-40% in taxes. To buy back cheaper and make it worth it the price of the coin would have to fall by that amount ....

2) no one knows where it will go.....Holding is usually the best option


3) just keep buying a small amount per week so you don't need to worry about the ups/down since you are getting the average of it

Can someone please give me a quick break down on the frees from Bittrex. Say I buy $800 worth of RXP, make $100, sell and buy something else. Are the fees $0.0025%? So factor that in twice? So $2 each transaction go $4 in total fees? I feel like I'm getting cucked when I trade. Its either that or I'm selling for the price of "last" and not "bid". I buy the same and use "lasts" and not "ask".
