Then there's the fairx that's supposedly coming (nonewgainz awared us on it and stellar/*** earlier itt) that'll make U.S purchases of alts via fiat easy. If that comes to fruition there will be a huge influx of liquidity.

Lol. If you hate BCH you shouldn't even be touching XRP. XRP is like genuinely bad. People just dislike BCH because it's the OG fork which totally deviated and actively challenged BTC - it is still decentralized, gives you a certain degree of ownership and anonymity.

XRP is centralized, the founders own the majority of the coin, they can alter the supply etc etc.

The BTC of today isn't the old Satoshi Nakamoto BTC, it's something else entirely. That's just me though because my initial early ~2012 draw to crypto was to own my own money and to make sure a bank has no say over where it goes or what I do with it.

Honestly even if btc is awesome i see it fizzling. As ive said before i think these coins will exist in their own niches

21 mil supply for a global currency is too small, too volatile, etc.

Yes btc is divisible but you cant have peoples entire networth on .001 btc

Bruh the tech is >>>>>>>>>>>

For trading purposes, it's not even close and you know it lol.

I've already agreed numerous times that the centralization/long term future of XRP is no bueno. But for short term trading while BTC gets strapped up for cuckage? XRP and it's not even close. Remember, we're talking pure trade stats here. Both are chit long term in the crypto world and we both know that.

Also, you need to read up on the Ripple escrow brah. They have a limit on fluctuation capabilities. Not saying that makes it ideal by any means, but it's something to consider.

Cliffs:
While both are chit long term - Ripple has better tech, higher cap, more appeal, more investment gain opportunity (currently). The last leg is coinbase. BCH will become obsolete.
There is no thing without nothing.

Exactly, I'm talking about 2018 and maybe '19. BTC isn't going to be doing chit in that time, I'm pretty confident that sitting with your whole stack in btc for '18 is a terrible idea if you want to get on that lambo time.

How is it going to boom when it's already borderline useless at it's current level? The more it goes up the worse it gets, it's like trying to walk into a headwind that increases in speed the farther along you go.

Literally the only thing btc has going for it is it's name/brand recognition. It's not even special in terms of value storage, any number of cryptos can do that just as well as it while also being usable. People are going to figure this out (already are).

I agree but I think the trading also affects the entirety of crypto. The coin that's the king of the hill dictates the zeitgeist of cryptocurrency and current beliefs/trends. If that's XRP, we all lose. I'm all for trading gains but I wouldn't do it with XRP because it would help XRP grow.

I appreciate your insights brah, srs.

But how can you make that argument against XRP and not BCH? In regard to damaging the market (or are you saying both are chit)

BCH has been bad short term (or good depending on how you look at it lol, btc low price etc).. XRP will be bad long term. I don't think XRP will have the affect you're mentioning though. The truth will come about, education of the masses, etc.. and the tide will shift as needed.

Not the way coin market cap has it defined.

For example coin GGG:

Market cap: $5000
Circulating supply: 5000
Current price: $1.00

Person X buys 500 coins at $1.00 ($500 total)
Market cap stays the same ($1.00 x $5000)
Person X buys 250 coins at $2.00 ($500 total)
Market cap doubles (2.00 x 5000)

Now you do run into weird definitions where technically these coins were not taken out of the circulating supply but if someone is holding them in their wallet then in actuality yes they are removed. Vice Versa if everyone is selling and the coins come back into supply. Demand will vary on a case by case basis

None of that is factored into what your seeing on cmc though.

Thanks brah. Re: BCH, I don't think BCH is bad for cryptocurrency, it's bad for BTC but it is essentially a tweaked version of BTC and follows the same rules and whitepaper. I wouldn't mind a tweaked BTC being king of the hill because it follows the cardinal original "rules" of cryptocurrency. XRP is like an improved SWIFT/Visa etc. network - GTFO.

I just think for what it's trying to be it should crush BTC in performance. Not do slightly better and pump/dump itself to smithereens like it did.

edit: Rolled the dice on BTC and looks like I'm gonna luck out. Pumping nicely.

Oh absolutely and that's why I think BCH is not a true competitor. It's only a mild but noticeable improvement. A true BTC killer will have all the rules/infrastructure of BTC but will have instant transactions/minimum fees (or even zero fee transactions like XRB). But currently, BCH and LTC are more fit for purpose for peer to peer transactions. They just aren't good enough to kill BTC.

IMO BCH takes over BTC when people figure out its pennies vs 30-50 bucks to send something. That will take over. Whales control BTC now so they may want to shock everyone. BTC is still the number one pair to transact. As long as money is flowing into the space it will end up in BTC

once people do more research and get tired of 50-100+ fees they will switch to BCH and pay literally pennies. (max I ever paid to move money was .33 cents)

once lighting hits then yes BTC will come back but that is 19/20

How are you saying you can buy 500 at 1 dollar without affecting the supply. Youd then have to subtract 500 from the supply which would affect price. There would now only be 4500 in existence of a 5000 supply

I also agree. There were nuances not even, mentioned that make it more confusing - lost coins, development, etc.

LTC relegated itself to it's current position. Charlie Lee since the earliest days said he wants Litecoin to be silver and BTC to be gold. He's also continuously FUD'd his own coin every time it's pumped and sabotaged it's growth to appease/appear non-threatening to BTC. ETH is just a totally different beast and IMO overcomplicated to serve as cash for the normie population.

BCH has poised itself to be a direct competitor to BTC and on paper is a vastly improved version of BTC with a more dynamic development team. It also has Bitcoin in the name, which is why the Bitcoin community tries to hard to detach it (Bcash etc etc.) from it by various misinformation, misdirection strategies. I don't think it will kill BTC, the BTC killer will need to be a lot better andnotbe a fork of Bitcoin.

The constant forks that have occurred recently may help BTC in that it causes a dilutory effect and thus less credibility to future forks (they just get ignored).

Why are so many people happy about btc tanking? If btc crashes then it will negatively affect all other coins. No new money will come in if the almighty btc flops.

I don't think it will kill BTC, the BTC killer will need to be a lot better.
Charlie lee is such a beta cuck, main reason why i sold out of litecoin even though its fast and cheap to transfer.

I also don't invest in bch either even though its fast and cheap. No normie will invest in BCH as long as Roger Ver is promoting it, he's probably the most hated person in the crypto space.

Were like right on the precipice of being fine without it, but still a little bit to go. Huge movement now would suck the fun out for a bit though

Bruh how is that not extremely possible.. at least with a couple huge pumps

Staying at $5 just lol.. but reaching 5? I can see it happening easily. Everyone keeps saying market cap/supply yet here we are at $2 in less than a month.

edit: not saying your doubt isn't warranted, just wanting to see why you feel that's a ridic claim
