BCH has poised itself to be a direct competitor to BTC and on paper is a vastly improved version of BTC with a more dynamic development team. It also has Bitcoin in the name, which is why the Bitcoin community tries to hard to detach it (Bcash etc etc.) from it by various misinformation, misdirection strategies. I don't think it will kill BTC, the BTC killer will need to be a lot better andnotbe a fork of Bitcoin.

The constant forks that have occurred recently may help BTC in that it causes a dilutory effect and thus less credibility to future forks (they just get ignored).

Honestly xrp's run at btc's marketcap waa pretty unprecedented

Eth had a huge run and encroached upon btc but btc wasnt nearly as expensive/ prominent then. Btc is way higher than it was at the time

Xrp did 1/4 of btc's marketcap yesterday and it took btc 8 or 9 years to get there.

I think it may have been big money not seen too much in this space

If millions of people flood the market with billions of dollars, and the buyers are willing to buy for $13k BTC, the marketcap won't move at all....even though there are tons of money coming in.
but 1 transaction doesn't determine the prize that's used to calculate the total market cap - it's the average of all prizes payed for it on that day (or in a specific time frame)

The total market cap increase doesn't have to be directly correlated to the FIAT flowing in - for example, there's an airdrop or free tokens, everybody gets them without putting in extra fiat - and the total market cap increases

Was playing poker with some friends last night and crypto came up and it basically went exactly like every conversation you guys have had with people outside this realm with terms like "bubble" especially.

When it comes to LTC/BTC/BCH it's more ideological than technological though so those human factors count more towards where they are and will go. They're all very similar except for BTC which is very inferior from the user experience perspective.

simple its straight up bitcoin.. Store of value and currency.

Plain and simple. LTC is a hobby coin . Look at its team. it was abandoned for YEARS then charlie came back because it was hot.

Right now any merchant accepting BTC will be begin switching to BCH in 2018 *( for legal reasons I cannot say who ) but stayed tuned lots of PR's coming

edit: ETH has all sorts of bugs/issues hence why most hackers aren't helping solve the issue they want to exploit it and steal millions again lo;

i have a lot in BCH, but i don't care for Roger Ver drama. You guys can hate him, but he has done A LOT for Bitcoin for many years.
I'm not emotionally attached to BCH, i just know it will pump...which it already did, to $5k. I just got greedy and didn't sell. Whatever. BTC and BCH will have their moment again one day.
As I've said before....Until BTC solves their scaling problem, BCH is better for transacting (cheaper and faster for now). This makes it better for merchant adoption. BTCers can hate BCHers....just get the lightning network working and you will destroy BCH. Until then, stop sayin BCH is trash, when BTC literally does nothing.
I have both BTC and BCH. May the better coin win.

The next month is going to be really interesting to see where all this goes. I already told myself I am done putting in more fiat...5 times already. I think that is going to be my new year's resolution. For 2018 no more buying, just play with what I have.

It is hard as hell when you are checking news, rumors, prices, etc every day. How do you guys distract yourself so you don't get completely consumed with this? It's becoming a real time sink for me.

once people do more research and get tired of 50-100+ fees they will switch to BCH and pay literally pennies. (max I ever paid to move money was .33 cents)

once lighting hits then yes BTC will come back but that is 19/20
Hard to say what will dethrone it but it's almost a law of business/markets that the first big guy in a new space gets dethroned by upstarts that work off the same platform but make improvements and fix the first guy's shortcomings/failings. Btc is playing directly into that right now.

Not tanking, just not mooning.

Yeah it's like how professional golf has been doing great without Tiger Woods even though there was a lot of speculation about it crashing back down to earth when he left. They have enough stars and it's established enough that it continues to thrive just fine without him.

Applying that to crypto, we need other good coins established and the crypto market in general established before btc goes away completely. For now it just needs to trade mostly sideways so the market can develop and newer coins can get established.

If this were true then xrb would be king. Once ln gets implemented btc will cuck all coins that are based on fast and cheap transactions. There is no logic in this space. Look at how xrp is mooning even though it goes against everything cryptos stand for.

Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

There is plenty of money to go around for all of us. But I have noticed that a lot of people get more pleasure out of witnessing other people lose money than making money themselves. Especially people who don't have a single dime in cryptos.

I remember when btc first hit 10k, people were asking me stuff about btc. Then when it hit 17-18k people were asking me to help them buy coins. Then when it dropped to 13-14k they were like I told you so or accused me of being in a ponzi scheme.

From now on I am going to pretend not to know anything about cryptos and just avoid that headache altogether. You know it is bad when computer illiterate people start talking about how ripple is going to hit $100+ this year. Where do they even get their info from?

Some people like to raise themselves by putting others down.
They feel richer when others are poorer.
