working on my long term HODL list, $5k invested by end of February, with an additional $1k/month after that. the allure of day trading for quick pump dump monies is appealing but I'm very wary of it, i think a long term "passive" portfolio is better suited to my temperament and knowledge level on this stuff

so far the shortlist: FUN, DBC, QSP, REQ, LINK, ETH

not looking to get spoonfed, but any pos/neg feedback would be appreciated! ty men

I don't think btc tanking is good for anyone. Love or hate it, btc is the face of cryptos. If it flops then no new money will come in imo.

I bought in at 3k, 4k, 5k, 7k and just recently at 12k. So yeah I hope it does eventually get out of this rut and go up but I am not too worried.

Eth is the only thing that is holding steady in my portfolio. Already sold all my ltc. I like the tech side of it but it has been slowly bleeding dry ever since charlie lee publicly off loaded all his coins.

I am not going to pretend that I know what is going to happen. Just putting my money into coins that I support. Bought some xmr and I hope it gains more traction this year.

Nice looks like almost all my mywish tokens sold.

It's been a fun ride, now to buy all these coins in the top 100 under 1 dollar for a 6 month hold. I'm so excited for this project!

How do you pick your coins? I always look at the team behind the project and the tech they are promising. But that doesn't seem to matter in this space.

One random tweet or rumor and some random coin goes to the moon or completely tanks. I swear this is all based on hype but maybe I am not smart enough to pick winners yet.

The short term pump-n-dumps are all hype and rumor and can happen to any old chitcoin. But for longer term hodling the quality and real world use of it is what you wanna look for. The vaporware chitcoins aren't going to moon over the long term (I don't think).

Well normally I pick on hype/news/community/dev team/upcoming roadmap targets that you can hype on social media platforms.

But I am actually starting this project and a website where I'm buying 100 dollars worth of every coin less than a dollar in the top 100 and holding for 2 quarters. (so I'll be able to sell jul 1st) I just started a website and will be keeping updates of the profits/losses and diving deeper into each one of the coins. So I should be purchasing 33 coins today unless a few dropped off or were added.

I just want lightning network to come online. Moving around btc is a pain in the arse right now. I think once faster and cheaper transactions are implemented, btc will start another strong bull run.

Nice omen for ICX opening up January 1st with a nice green candle. My buddy just bought another 900 shares this morning so I know he's happy. We're both holding this one though and hoping for another 4-5x out of it.

ETH looks to be gaining on BTC as well and ETH will probably end up taking off here in during Q1. I'm still bullish on it and think once it clears 1K that 2K or close to it will be hit shortly after.
