Anyone else getting a feeling the alt buy cycle feels overbought and BTC is ramping up for a run? If this BTC rally is headed for 20k again I reckon alts will tank for a few days

Oh, on the names I think it's because DeepOnion is related to DeepWeb and DeepBrain name of a AI like the first one or something like that.

This was sent to me early December from one of my friends who has a paid subscription to a private article. Figured I would share it for all the new people.

"The main criticism of bitcoin is that itโ€™s too volatile. The Establishment sees this as a problem because low-volatility portfolio models are what drive Wall Street.

You see, Wall Street makes its money by holding onto your money as long as possible. They deliberately try to tamp down volatility to lull clients into a false sense of security.

When values swing around too much, clients get scared and start to pull their investments. Wall Street hates this. Remember, they make their money by holding on to your investment dollars.

Naturally, with bitcoin being so volatile, it hasnโ€™t fit into the Wall Street mold. But thatโ€™s changing. Study after study is coming out showing that bitcoin is uncorrelated to other assets.

Hereโ€™s what that meansโ€ฆ

Assets that are correlated move together in price. And assets with inverse correlation have prices that move in opposite directions from each other. Uncorrelated assets are unaffected by the forces that affect correlated and inversely correlated assets. Why is that important? One of the tricks Wall Street uses to tame volatility is building portfolios with inverse correlations. For example, when stocks go down, bond prices usually go up. Thatโ€™s a major reason most money managers tell you to own stocks and bonds. It has little to do with delivering great advice tailored to your needs. They just want to keep the volatility down so they can milk your investment account for 40 years of fees.

So, what does this have to do with bitcoin? Wall Street is starting to realize that bitcoin is uncorrelated to any other asset. That means the price of bitcoin is unrelated to the price of gold, stocks, bonds, or commodities. In that context, bitcoinโ€™s volatility goes from being a foe to a friend.

We envision Wall Streetโ€™s pitch will be that by adding a 5% allocation to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, you can actually bring down the volatility of your entire portfolio because bitcoin is unaffected by market crashes, monetary intervention, recessions, or wars.

Hereโ€™s how we think itโ€™s going to play out.

In the near future, weโ€™re going to see an endowment or pension fund add bitcoin to its portfolio. It wonโ€™t be a large stake in its portfolio, but that wonโ€™t matter. Itโ€™ll explain that itโ€™s using bitcoin as a non-correlated hedge to smooth out volatility.

When that happens, watch out. Wall Street will grab on to the non-correlated narrative and run with it like a dog with a stolen pork chop.

The rush is coming."

Thinking about doing the same. The more I look into this project the more evident it becomes that its a long term hold throughout all of 2018. Once I'm in it, I'm not selling out of my position until Q1 of next year at the earliest.

The only two things I need to figure out are (a) percent of portfolio I want to allocate to XLM and (b) percent drawdown and consolidation from all time-high to where the price is right for me to pull the trigger. Leaning towards 12% to 15% of overall portfolio after a 25% drop from ATH

mirin. I'm trying to either get a WTC or VEN node. VEN node would be much cheaper at this point.
