Another edition of Blump's Driveway Adventures...
Driveway claimed another victim last week. The dominoes delivery guy (who is a ****ing moron), and my bridge took the hit.
He called and asked if our driveway was the long one with the bridge and I said yes. He said Ok I’m walking up.
Shows up at house and I’m like “do you not have winter tires?”. He said no as he goes to school in MA. Sure, makes perfect sense (NOT), tipped him well for walking it up thinking he left his car at the start of the driveway.
Get a call a few minutes later saying “uh, sir, I couldn’t stop coming down your hill and I hit your bridge railing and it’s down”.
Said okay I’m coming down to take a look. Get down there and see this.
Thought that was strange as if he walked it up why is he driving down. Turns out he drove down and stopped on the bridge and then walked it up the hill. Then decided instead of backing out to the county road he would come up and turn around in the turnout before the turn up the hill to the house then head back down.
He locked up the brakes and instead of letting off and steering to get onto the bridge he rode the slide all the way into the railing. Very lucky it stopped him otherwise he would have gone nose first down a 20’ drop and likely ended up upside down in the brook.
I shined my headlamp down over the side of the bridge for him so he could see where he almost ended up, he got a bit pale.
Moral of the story, don’t deliver pizzas in Vermont in the winter in a ****ing Lancer with summer performance tires.
Looks like dominoes is buying me a new bridge railing. Owner of the shop was supposed to call me yesterday and didn't.

Stopped the next morning to take pictures of his skid marks. Locked it up and didn't let off or steer the whole way down

Also took pics of the drop off in the day

Huh.. a delivery driver in snow country without the proper gear. End well this will not.
I guess I would admire the determination, if not the intelligence. Would have flat out refused to deliver.
Here, we get flash floods. Delivery attempts are cancelled, and the customer told to pick up his own damn pizza. $20 ain't worth the hassle.

5 day weekend starts now. Had to be on site at 6:00am for a fire equipment inspection and the inspector never showed. Now I'm caffeinated but ready to have my grande latte enema.

We have a family friend who is a handyman, and he is supposed to come by today and repair the leak. Our builder is also a friend and he’s supposed to send his Sheetrocker once the plumbing is done.

For every Blump driveway story, I have a parking deck story.
The deck where I park has exactly three spaces where I am guaranteed not to get door dings, and if I'm in by 7am I can usually grab the third one, but it's on the bottom level. I'm usually the first car there.
For about the past month, this fukking joker has been parking nose first in a corner, and smoking the sh!t out of some weed for about an hour every morning. I mean, it's strong as hell throughout the deck. I don't know who he thinks he's fooling. I'm not a snitch but I don't want some nosy cops breaking into my car, thinking it's full of weed. It's that strong. I don't know when he leaves but it's after I park. Not sure if I need to do anything about it. I'm not going to change where I park.
