Great money is useless if you're turned into fish flakes and being chased by Pitbull sharks. Once it locks jaws......

Father in law worked in something like that when he was in his 20's. Made enough money to invest on his company which is what made him a millionaire now. Anyway while underwater he saw a friend get compressed inside a bowl underwater, the bowl was the size of a volleyball and his 6'3" coworker somehow ended up inside of that srs.

He quit the next morning.

Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

Yeah that's gonna be a no for me dawg. I get more than waist deep in the Ocean and I am "nope nope nope". But work like this needs to be done, I am sure no-one or not many people set out to do work like this.

Imagine the horror of being stuck like that while drowning.

Subsequent investigation by forensic pathologists determined Hellevik, being exposed to the highest pressure gradient and in the process of moving to secure the inner door, was forced through the 60 centimetres (24 in) diameter opening created by the jammed interior trunk door by escaping air and violently dismembered, including bisection of his thoracoabdominal cavity, which further resulted in expulsion of all of the internal organs of his chest and abdomen, except the trachea and a section of small intestine, and of the thoracic spine. These were projected some distance, one section later being found 10 metres (30 ft) vertically above the exterior pressure door.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his gods?

Video failed to show the most prevalent danger, the transfer to and from the decompression chamber. When you work on the rig they leave you pressurized for the week so that you don't spend you whole time pressurizing and depressurizing.

Was all set to go to school herehttps://www.oceancorp.com/and be an underwater tradie. Went to the orientation where they talked how you would make an easy 100k on your 3 month stint on the rig, then come home and work another 3 month stint doing tanker inspections or nuclear diving for another 100k and take 6 months off.

We got to the discussion about the dangers and examples of accidents that happen with the pressurized living bells, such as the example by m1n2v5. Nope, went home the next day. They seemed to almost never drown, but more often killed by compression/decompression.

they have 7-11s or gas stations out at sea so the sea tradies can stock up on energy drinks and burritos during breaks?

Fun fact, they're not actually Tradies, it's just a marketing name. They're really just brine shrimp.
