Poster is 34, not 48 as profile states (not sure how to change it).
2017 was a pretty ****ed up year for me. In July I caught my wife cheating on me and I had to bring the marriage to an end. We got together in 2004 and married in 2011 and we have a 3 year old child together. She had cheated on me before we had our son and I stupidly took her back. But after cheating for the second time I had no choice to end it.
I have no family locally, my family live about 4 hours away, so I decided to stand my ground and not move out of the house. My wife and son moved in with her parents which live round the corner.
We have had a house and mortgage together for 5 years. I went into the bank at the end of July to start proceedings to buy out my wife from the mortgage. I was declined and told I needed to check my credit score online. I was shocked as I have always kept up payments on all bills and don't have any debts. To my shock I found out I have arrears of £15,000 debt in my name. Recently found out that a family a family member had ran up this debt in my name. It's a long story and I did protest it with the lender the debt is with but basically was told I'm responsible for this debt. My credit rating was "very poor" at this point. I had to take control of this debt and setup a repayment plan, I'm recovering this cost from my uncle each month. It's a 5 year plan and basically there's no guarantee my uncle will give me this money every month, although he has since July.
So basically within the space of a few weeks, I found out my wife had cheated on my (again), I'm £15,000 in debt and Im unable to raise any money to pay my wife off the house. I'm not going to lie, depression set in, I was in the house, feeling very alone and could not see any light at the end of the tunnel. I turned to heavy drinking. Luckily I have good friends around me which helped me greatly.
For the sake of my son I remained amicable with my wife, despite hating her guts. I have my son stay over with me 2-3 nights a week. I always want to be involved in his life, my dad had left when I was 2 and lacked a father figure in my upbringing.
A friend suggested I get on tinder and have a little fun, which his advice I took. In the October I hooked up with this girl, we got on really well and things were great in the beginning. But my beta behaviour diffused the relationship and she went cold on me. I'm still hung up on this girl despite it was me who ended it. I have since gone NC. I created a post on here about this relationship, but it won't let me link it.
Fast forward to today, almost 6 month from when I found my wife had cheated. I have since found this forum and have been totally enlightened. I'm Learning to discover and improve myself and I'm feeling much more confident. I've been working out and starting to feel better about myself, especially when I get comments from friends. I do have low moments but compare where I was 6 months ago, I've come a long way.
I'm hoping 2018 is going to be a better year. I'm going back into my bank at the end of the month, hopefully the bank will give me funds to pay my wife off my house, so she and my son can have a deposit to get a home of their own. Then I will start divorce proceedings, which will be another financial burden!
I work as a electrical engineer, currently looking for another company to work for, which pays more, as my personal, circumstances have changed. Only one income coming into the house now.
Sorry for the long read.

Got fired 2 years ago because I didn't pass a test. Did the Uber driving thing while looking for jobs. I found a job eventually. Left that one after dealing with chitty people. Got the job I'm currently at making more and happier.
Look at the positive side to this, you're in school and you don't have to deal with those people anymore. Keep your head UP!

As far as time we will see how the guard works. I need a credential for the job Im signing for and that may have gotten ****ed on the civillian side via losing my job. If not? I'll be support to SF, Volunteer for deployments/training and finish my degree on the side.
If I cannot maintain that job? I'll go active as something. Probably Commo, work out, try some cool guy stuff, and see how that works. However being 26 with essentially a High Diploma and a blank resume right now is ****ing not the business.

You'll be fine brah.
EDIT: In fact, now that I think about it, it's similar to dating - I don't think any miscers would argue that when a bish breaks up with your ass it's always good in the long run.

Such thoughts are common when the wound is fresh. It's like when you go out on a bender and the following morning you think, "fuk... i'm never EVER drinking again", and in that moment you really believe that chit, but before you know it time passes and you're down for getting chit faced again.

They say polygraphs take natural human nerves into account but it sure doesn't seem like it.

And you're right about older dudes doing well in the SF community, that's why the recruiter is talking to me at 36 years old.The thing is man is man is a particular three letter agency ****ed me I may not be able to be support to Special Forces anymore....
I spoke to my recruiter and told him what happened. If the Army helps me out then Im good. If not maybe I'll go commo or try to go to Selection or Get an option 40. idk man.

Go for the support role asap. Worst case scenario is you do support for a year until you figure something else out. If you can work on your degree it doesn't look bad on your resume either. Just word it that you went back to school to use your GI bill money. Knock out the BS classes while you're waiting around this spring. It's not too late to get your general ed signed up (online) for spring semester. Keep moving forward, don't sit too long.

Anyway, you've got lots of time on your hands now. If you want to knock out credits fukkin FAST, take CLEP tests. 90 minute tests, all multiple choice, for college credit. If you study I'd say 3 hours a day, you could pass a test every 2-4 weeks. Get a prep book, work through it and you'll be golden.
