But heres what they disregard - opportunity cost. There's no telling how long things will be in a downtrend or sideways and lets say for example you bought BTC and it went down 10%. Sure you can hold it and it will probably go up over time, but what if you cut off that loss and go put that money to work in something that is trending up now. I know I'm going against the majority opinion here, but HODL is a meme and at some point in this market the dynamics will change it will be a career ending move. I don't know when that will be but I always keep this in the back of my mind. I don't wish losses on anyone so I thought I'd share my opinion here because thats what my experience has been

I was holding dash bags for a while, then sold the bags and put the funds into kuckshares before it took off.ecen though dash is slowly climbing back, It was badass decision to board a rocket with an earlier liftoff time.

My ultimate setup is gunna be a couple of long holds stashed away and another stack of btc used for trading.

And things can change too, I think we'll be able to make a more accurate call in mid-Feb.

Sitting on this xlm has been so painful for the past 4 days now, it's about 70% of my portfolio, considering breaking even on about half of it to go out and make some money elsewhere

We're not early investors like the guys into this from 2008 etc. BUT we are early enough that when things are simplified and huge money starts coming in we can all cash out and retire. :-)

The people that worry about whatever event will cause this "bubble" to pop, and need an exit strategy...my question is do you genuinely believe this entire market will be regulated to the point of shut down/no liquidity, or do you just think 90% of coins will go solvent? I'm in the latter camp...I definitely think crypto is saturated with chit coins which will eventually work itself out, but if you are in genuinely good products/teams I don't think the bubble talk should be as scary.
I think cryptocurrencies are beginning the move to mainstream integration, but there will definitely be a lot of casualties along the way. That's why I'm mainly hodling utility tokens; they fuel products/service, not just one of 8 million privacy coins.

So far nothing is even near the realm of BTC right now and if you think so and have a well thought out idea then I would love to hear your thoughts but from what I understand and the smartest people I know in this space, BTC is king.
At some point investors will need real world use in order to justify these valuations.. what coins have these so far? not many.
