With ethereum floating around 1k hopefully newcomers help pump it thinking it'll do a 2017 bitcoin

Also are people playing with icos much still, having funds tied up waiting for the rises is a pain but there's good gains if it works.

Keep in mind that binance and bittrex aren't accepting new registrations (someone correct me if I'm wrong here), the pumps in the coins on the other small exchanges might be because of that.

Why is that last point important? Well, look at ethereum, they give big promises but don't have the rigorous testing that BTC does. What has been the result, multiple forks because people's money got frozen due to bugs in the system. Everytime they hard fork it destorys the integrity of an 'immutable public ledger' as they can just change it at the drop of a hat because Vitalik (centralization) decided to. the last being the $150 million frozen due to one persons screw up. Smart contracts are an incredible idea but they are so far away from being usable that its kinda irrelevant.

On top of that, guess what BTC upgrades are due in the future? Lightening, Smart contracts and privacy.

The fact that alot of people aren't aware of because they simply haven't done the research is that BTC will have all of the features that its altcoin competitors have in due time. It will take some time, because again BTC developers rigorously test their updates before releasing anything. So if I had to put my faith in something I would go with the smartest, most talented developers who have been working on it for longer than any other project. Could that change? sure, but I'd be leaning towards BTC right now over all.
But isn't LN going to centralize it? BTC's whole appeal is that you are your own bank and nobody else controls/has a hand on your chit.

And what happens to BTC when new exchanges show up that're backed by banks and offer fiat/alt pairings? Because you know that chit is coming sooner rather then later, relying on btc holding the rest of the market hostage isn't a sound long term strategy imo.


I agree on eth, I know it's got a lot of fans itt but I don't see it as being a lock for long term survival, there's some upcoming platforms that can de-throne it.
