Just because you claimed you think you saw a thread doesn't make it true. Trust me bro look at my number of posts versus yours, I troll around here constantly and rarely see threads on this topic made by 20 something year olds trying to retire at 35 as you claim. The issue you're arguing against doesn't exist.

I don't disagree with your point tho. There are not many "shortcuts" to getting rich other than getting incredibly lucky. I'm pretty well off and also presented some amazing opportunities in 2018 which I hope will pan out, but that's hardly getting rich quick and not at all without putting in years of effort to be ready when the opportunity strikes.

completely disagree with OP.

People need a place to live, don't they? Everyone knows that renting is a waste of money. If you own property you can rent rooms on your property to your friends and essentially live for free if you do it correctly.

I have friends who own several properties (backed by debt), and even commercial properties who make a killing in rental income. Eventually the debt gets paid and you have an asset that others paid for through rental income. You can then sell those properties to accumulate wealth, or keep on renting.

Of course this takes a lot of time, and you won't be able to pay off a property over night, but in the long run it can make you a millionaire.

Very true but it's not all wine and roses. I'm sure you know a few people who were completely wiped out by the sub prime crisis BECAUSE they could borrow far too much (hell I know of two and I don't even live in America)

Are you going to be the fourth person ITT who claims they have friends making a killing but doesn't want to explain the important bit(how they got the capital together in the first place)

It sounds a bit harsh but prices on Dutch real estate are throught the roof atm, so I'm waiting for another crash to buy some property cheaply.
No I don't want anyone to become homeless, but it happens. People are retards when it comes to financial planning
