The trend for 2018 seems to be smart contracts and partnerships. Last year was all about store of value long term. This market changes so fast, you gotta adapt on the fly. Or sit on the sidelines and watch your portfolio bleed.

bruh, you were around for the 2017 summer crash... come on man. I chased ETH from $150 to $375, only to watch it go down to $200, and my alts dropped by 50% averaged out. I walked away from crypto from June until November. Even at this dip, and not including the ICO I am in, I'm still up 40% just by sitting here... That's insane. Cyrpto isnt going anywhere, any time soon, so just chill. Delete apps, delete bookmarks, and come back in a few months.

i'm confused on the use of USDT and why people buy that during dips.

if you purchase .5 btc of USDT during dips and convert back when it stabilizes, is it not the same value as if you didn't convert to USDT?

you still have .5 btc in the end

How it could benefit us? It should be the same as usual day trading. Buy low sell high based on Sat. The benefit is if you can time it perfectly, you might end up with more BTC next week than this week. The issue is you are asking question where the answer is already there and you seemed to be annoyed that you didn't get the answer you want.

You have been doing it from the start. There's really nothing special we can do at this point. My position in this situation is, we are already like 20% down from yesterday. For me, its too late to even think of a way out or take advantage of the situation. That's why I just hold whatever I have and wait for the price to recover.

I think you’re trying to do too much and juggle to many variables. If you weren’t sheltered in btc before this dump, you’re better off just hodling the alts imo.

When alts rebound it’s faster and more aggressive than bitcoin, and will probably happen before you have an opportunity to time it and get back into alts.

I get what you’re trying to do, and it’s almost like timing two markets at once and getting in the bottom of both.

It takes much less capital to make an alt move and that’s why they are more volitile when bitcoin starts going up you won’t be able to ride to the peak and get in the alt bottom, the alts will move faster and you may just end up worse off than before the dump

The only real way to win this is get into tether, then buy back cheaper btc then buy cheaper alts or pick up margin and short the **** out of everything.

I'm not into conspiracy theories and I'm not saying this is the case - but it's a completely perfect way for a nation to gain wealth among its citizens lmao. Drain cash from other nations by making them pump money in something they believe in, then let it crash due to some "internal regulation" and make your own people profit.

If you have 1BTC last night when it was $14400. And then you happen to see it starts to dip.
Then you decided selling your BTC for USDT at a current value of $14000, then you will have 14,000 USDT right?

And then let's say BTC goes down to 10,000 USDT and you decided to buy back, you can buy 1.4 BTC because you have 14000 USDT.

-Lets say I bought ADA at 5800, and its now at 5300

-If I sold ADA at 5300 (loss), and allowed BTC to rise to expected bounce of ~13k, would that be beneficial on the rebuy for ADA (which I don't think would be much higher since a BTC rise further cucks the ALT value in SAT?)

I think if any coin will overtake BTC, it will be ETH for obvious reasons. I think the team behind BTC really goofed by not rolling out updates fast enough. There are coins that do everything BTC can but faster and better.

With that being said I don't think BTC is going anywhere. History has shown that BTC is resilient and always bounces back to ATH after a major dip. But then again we have a lot of alternatives in 2018 that's slowly taking market share from BTC.

Cliffs: I don't know and no one else does either. Just use your best judgement and don't get too emotional.

If low BTC = low alt price, then surely we should all invest more in BTC? That way both BTC and alt prices go up, it's a win win.
BTC is getting more scarce now as well, so I think the value is going to go up exponentially soon. Thoughts?

Seems LF explained it, your trying to time 2 markets that are already inter-related and trying to squeeze out profits from both sides right?

Maybe you should answer this first though

What was your main reason for getting into alts in the first place? to increase your BTC stack?

I was just basing this idea off the prior BTChad runs that bled ALTs during it. But you're both right - I'm still trying to time two things, I'm waking up and seeing that now.

However, I still wanna know in theory, if I took a loss on an ALT, at what level of BTC run would I be able to benefit and buy back in...

Can someone tell me if this is correct to buy coins

I made a btcmarkers account
And a kucoin account
And a breadwallet account

So what I do is,
1) deposit real money into btcmarkets
2) purchase BTC or ETH
3) send coins too kucoin and use them to buy alt coins
4) once I buy I send coins to breadwallet to keep them safe

Then to sell

1) move coins back to kucoin
2) exchange for ETH or BTC
3) send to btcmarket and sell coins on there for real money

??

Thanks

If it's a recovery from a major dip, alts don't bleed from btc run....
