Unrelated to the movie:
Without a doubt Africa never had the chance to advance like the rest of the world simply due to the sheer amount of diseases on that continent. Sub-Saharan Africa was never conquered pre-colonialism due to the lack of medicine to combat those diseases.
Ultimate worst start scenario for a human civilization.

People need to stop blaming Europe for their problems. Pretty sure Europe as a continent has faced more devastating wars and plagues in history than every other continent combined. Yet they learned how to deal with dozens of hostile neighbors throughout history.
Same deal in Asia. Through out history every single country and continent has been ravaged by war. People now blaming what happened hundreds of years ago makes zero sense. Especially white people who feel guilt about something they have no apart of.
Just live your life and stop getting upset at the past, a past none of us had a part in.

look at Japan. They bounced back better than before, after the nukes. Only country in the world to get nuked twice and look where it's at today, would rep Japan IRL.

He didn't use that as an excuse for the rest of his life. He joined the American military and actually ended up fighting for America in the war. After the war he got into local city government and designed the city I grew up in coincidentally. Successful life. Was mirin. He died shortly after we talked from old age/kidney issues (he was like mid 90's).
