My favorite time of the year (time permitting) is to go down to my wife's parents' place in the countryside and chop all the wood down myself (they cut the trees down and prep them into around 1 meter logs that I slide through a cutter to about 1/3 of a meter). Then it's the axe and away we go. It takes me about two weeks of full days to chop enough for them to burn for their entire winter. And it's my favorite vacation to be honest. Wood chopping, beer, and some kind of grilled meat.

So I can't say I get you on the sick of splitting wood thing. I love it.

And, on the topic of this thread - let's be real here these jackets are basically a 'brand statement'. And there are far more expensive ones than Canada Goose - they are just less recognizable. It's also very easy to keep warm in -30 without one of these 1000+ dollar coats, so anyone arguing that these coats are necessary for 'function' is just...lol.

Lol. I dont have a Canada goose. but I bought a Nobis for 750 with my first paycheque 6 years ago at my first job. Best investment I've ever made. I still wear the same jacket every winter and it still looks brand new. gtfo here

Jackets for people who think they're trendy but are behind, canadian goose has been popular for a bit. You could make a pretty damn aesthetic wardrobe for $1000 though, imo not worth it.

Brb thrift certain fits/articles of clothing. Vintage made in america sh*t is a steal.
Brb get your clothes tailored to you body if they don't fit off the rack, still cheaper than full retail.

Only thing I'm really buying new are boots/jeans.

I'm not digging the way most of the Moncler jackets look but that's only after a quick glance. Canada Goose jackets are pretty fkn aesthetic, I've seen some cute girls who actually look hnnng in them and that's tough to do in a winter coat

Moose Knuckle jackets are taking the trend by Asians in Toronto now. I expect you US brahs will be seeing more of these soon.

My Ermenegildo Zegna winter coat costs alotmore than CG wear (and looks a chitload better). You should be careful when you try to brag about how much something costs, because there'll always be someone around to put you in your place. Like I just did. And I freely acknowledge that there are much more expensive coats than the ones I wear.

But the point is that these coats aren't necessary, and either way somehow CG has attracted such a following - especially in the community identified in this thread. My personal preference at that price level is Nobis anyway - everything from the quality of the jackets, to the style, to the sales interaction.

My $90 jacket keeps me warm enough to clear a foot of snow from my driveway at -40F in one go. Good enough for me. Lol at paying $1000 to avoid the test boost that comes with cold weather.

Tons of people down in Toronto have them. I thought it was overspending until I realized just how much money many of these people have.

Spend however makes you happy.

i have made a lot on money on canada goose stock. serious. loaded up all december january because literally every asian in nyc is wearing one and the cold snap the entire country faced boosted up sales. cant even imagine what the sales are overseas in asia right now. walked by the soho store and there was a line of people down the block waiting to get in to buy one(mostly asians too)

cant reccommend this stock enough. keep buying them everyone!

I figured on a bodybuilding site that people were muscular enough to wear normal coats. Canada Goose are for skinny people climbing stuff.

It's like Northface for Asian people.

I swear I've seen like one white guy wearing one, and he was clearly some Russian guido wannabe or something.

I live/work in Beijing and every 5th person on the street is wearing a Canada Goose. Usually a knock off one too.
