She had this casual little thing going on with this guy she respected but didn't love and then she somehow let it get serious without telling me. Then she stabbed me in the heart in the end.
That sucks though man, what happened when you found out? Did you give her a second chance?

At any rate, she went abroad, met the guy in September. But she cried when we officially parted in late September and she was still in heartbreak over me. They didn't start dating until about 4 months later, I don't know exactly when, but it was around late December/early January. And then she played it super slow, was still not over me, was very reserved, sending me sweet messages, but eventually made the leap sometime last year. Overall, I'd say it took her about 2 years to get over me.

I didn't read through all the pages, but read your first post. It sounds like you made the right decision. You weren't ready for marriage and kids, but she was. You were just on to different time lines. Based on her behavior though, it sounds like you dodge a bullet.

How about 101st chances? Do you believe in those?
I will tell you this, she truly loved me once and she made that clear. She told me multiple times that Ruscuck was not true love. Now I think her biological clock is ticking, so she's making an economical and practical decision, and she doesn't want to second-guess it or open herself up for more heartbreak. But if we could work out all our problems... wouldn't it be worth it in the end? All our dreams could come true.
If I said that to her now, I think she would tell me that her dreams have changed.... but I also think she's fooling herself. She wanted nothing more than to marry me. I want nothing more than to redeem myself. But should I get that chance?
According to her, hell no.

assuming this isnt a troll post, ill give some prospective
she was the love of your life as you say? well apparently you werent the love of her life in return or she would have waited for you and not instamarried a guy with alot more chit going on. so thats a dodged bullet. she's impulsive and if you married her now , who's to say in a year from now she wouldnt be cheating or anything?
further more she sounds unstable. the other guy has two small kids and a divorce and she's leaving you for that situation suddenly? it's not like she knew him for years. this is sudden. she didnt think this through which will come back on her with all the challenges she'll have later on.
she might have hurt you now, but really, you are the one that got away. just dont answer her calls or fb 'hey you' messages a year from now ok? she'll come back around and try to work it out. they always come back

I know not all women are whores, but society has made it much easier for women to be whores. I'd argue that most are whores now. This isn't about me. This is about you getting past your chit. You know I'm right. She made her decision bro. Don't blame yourself. You have to move on.

Of course, if she turned into the heartless bish that she is today, even with all my love and affection, I probably would've ended up miserable. So maybe it is for the best, after all.
The thing is, and this is why I was hesitant to get married - you never know if you are dating the real person, or somebody "on an audition" to get married that will get far too comfortable once you actually tie the knot.

There's no such thing as the love of your life, in the end she could have easily been in love with someone else. If you were to have died she would have found another guy and lived happily ever after.
Good luck with everything tho, you'll get over it.

I don't know what to tell you OP. I kind of know where you are coming from and the sad part is there is no clear answer I or anyone else can give you.
Life is complicated. Situations can be complicated. Life and situations change. People make mistakes, they learn, they grow up. We all do. When you met, you were younger, were together for a while, but I'm sure moving overseas changed her, and her situation changed, she lost hope in you ever settling down with her, so she latched onto someone else. Life isn't the fairy tale some try to paint it out to be. Whether or not she is settling or she really knows you are her true love is what's deep inside her and that is what you need to figure out. You have to think about the future, not the past, if you want a good future. It's a lot to think about.
I'm in a situation,, I was with this girl for 5.5 years, and she left me for some guy who knew how to play the alpha chad role to a T, but it turned out he was a beta timothy when it came down to it, and even after that, he dumped her. Now she wants me back. The answer is pretty clear there, so no need for a 8pg thread on that issue. Although I truly loved her, so it's not easy, but I know the answer.
So, the second half of my situation, my current GF is my exfiance from about 15 years ago. We were younger, and almost got married, and then she decided she didn't want to. She's a different person and so am I, we have grown up a lot, so it's different. Although I'm seeing a very positive future with her, I can't help but remember how she stomped on my heart and dragged it through the mud a long time ago, but I'll never forget that pain, and it lingers in the back of my mind.
Although I truly loved her, so it's not easy, but I know the answer.

she was the love of your life as you say? well apparently you werent the love of her life in return or she would have waited for you and not instamarried a guy with alot more chit going on. so thats a dodged bullet. she's impulsive and if you married her now , who's to say in a year from now she wouldnt be cheating or anything?
further more she sounds unstable. the other guy has two small kids and a divorce and she's leaving you for that situation suddenly? it's not like she knew him for years. this is sudden. she didnt think this through which will come back on her with all the challenges she'll have later on.
she might have hurt you now, but really, you are the one that got away. just dont answer her calls or fb 'hey you' messages a year from now ok? she'll come back around and try to work it out. they always come back

And it's not exactly sudden, they've been dating for over a year now, and they're not engaged yet (as far as I know). But when I asked on the phone if she thought they would get married, she said yes. And then when I asked if she thought they were soulmates, she hesitated slightly, then said yes. I was stunned.
I still agree with you that it's a mistake, though. This guy seemed like such a bad choice, I was never worried about him (although I will admit he is 6'6", good looking, and makes decent money) and she told me several times that there was nothing to worry about. Now, in the past few months, she's decided to go through with it? I think she needed him to replace me, so it's partly a practical decision.
I don't know man. I've gone back and forth about what I would say if she messages me back. It might be a year from now, it might be two years from now. I guess we'll see. Would depend on the context.
