Only problem is it limits your selection.
Useless fun trivia: Brooks Brothers was the inventor of the button down collar (why it's seens as an American style). Its the original polo shirt because back then the button down collar was used by polo and tennis players to prevent the wind from flapping the collar. Now it's seen as technically a sport shirt. Not a dress shirt.

The Kennedy brothers made it popular to wear oxford cloth button down shirts with suits but it was a very WASP/preppy thing to do. It's still seen as a casual shirt in the more traditional spectrum of suiting. Londoners would make fun of Americans showing up in business settings with their OCBD shirts.

General rule: If paired with a tie. Go with the wide spread collar for suits. OCBD as an option with a blazer and non matching trousers.

Also OP measure the widest point of the tie. If it's 2.75"< it's not considered skinny.

Anyone wear polos ewith ties here - ideraly with a Blazer/sports Jacketa nd both Collars qwuite out wide!

Not as I ahve adopted this style for " a few moons" but it is Alpha-ly trendy in the extreme no doubts tbh I think!
