OP, what sea state are you in? I was in sea state 9 once off the coast of new england. I threw up for 2 days straight.

That's probably a job I'd fall back on if anything in my current career goes to ****. No idea how tough it is to get, but I was in the USCG for 8 years, I'd assume it counts for something.

Why did you title your thread "driving" a boat? I own a little 18 foot pleasure boat and still refer to it as "piloting" or even "captaining" it. Seems like an odd choice unless there's something I don't know (a very likely possibility) about commercial maritime terminology.
