Funny thing about how people think...the **** that kills kids every day isn't a big deal.

It's what 13 teens die from texting and driving accidents every day. meh, too routine, can't worry about that

Alcohol related car accidents? A thousand roadway fatalities a year in just one regular size state? meh

I mean yeah it's something that will haunt them for the rest of their lives, but sounds like it was still an active shooter situation with the gunman's whereabouts unknown, so the safety and security of everyone comes before feelings and emotions.

Why do you favor leaving guns in the hands of criminals but taking them away from citizens? Do you think the shooting today would've been 100% prevented had the sale of firearms been illegal? Do you think that he wouldn't have tried to obtain them through another avenue?

I don't believe that banning the sale and possession of firearms will fix the gun violence problem here in the US. I've lived here my entire life (32 years) and I know the culture. We romanticize war, we see people die on TV every day, literally, we breed narcissism through the media to our youth, we're literally bombarded with negative/false information on a daily basis.

The problem isn't the firearm, it's the person holding it. If you ban the sale/possession of firearms, criminals will be the only people with them and then we're really ****ed.
Because so many other countries banned guns, from developing countries to top economies, so I think it would be better for US too. Also, being addicted is different than killing, those 2 are not comparable and have different backgrounds.
I also don't believe that banning guns will solve 100% the violence, but I really think it would lower it. I also agree that the problem is the person holding it, but you still need to protect yourself from those people by limiting them, they also need to be protected from themselves.

**** those countries and **** that.

On a scale of 1 to volcano, how mad are you that privately owned guns and lawful carriers went up and up while violent crime went down and down, for decades?

Protect people from themselves by passing more restricting laws?

Keep that retarded **** out of the US pls k thanks

I swear the average person's knowledge on history is maybe some cliffs on the Founding Fathers, slavery in America, and the Holocaust. Look up UNIT 731 under Imperial Japan, you literally cannot be anymore inhumane towards human beings than that. When is enough enough? When are we going to see a tragic shooting like this and do something about it? Why do you only see politicians talk about shootings when they happen and then get forgotten days later?

It's time to take a swift course of action before our entire society crumbles. I honestly don't see a solution short of taking every single gun of the street. (Yes I know that will never happen, but with the mental health the way it is in America right now the majority of people cannot be trusted with guns) We need to see some serious dialogue not from the media, but the President and our leadership. A tweet is not going to cut it anymore.

Just ban the ****ing guns. It will help, i will do something. If you care enough you would just ban the guns. Your society is ****ed. Sometimes a nuanced debate isn't needed and the banning of guns is one of them. It's definitely a safer society where guns aren't prevalent. Sadly, I react to these shootings the way I do to an air strike the middle east. Utterly removed from emotionally. I still can appreciate the tragic loss of human life.

Swift course of action?

No "gun free zones" unless every single person who enters must go through TSA/courthouse style security, manned by armed peace officers, every single time. Otherwise, carry by the law abiding is allowed.

You clearly have absolutely no idea what the reality is if you think the majority of people cannot be trusted with guns. THere are only 300+ million privately owned guns, and the % that use them to commit crimes is so small you probably cannot comprehend it as a number. But don't let reality and facts get in the way of your feelz

1) Let it be normal for parents to be parents again. Stop this progressive bullchit. I'm all for loving your kid no matter what, but I would not promote some behavior because 1 person from BFE can post on instagram and have a vagina and a beard and be happy. Being different does not inherently make you "cool". Is that even a real thought people think?
Sure every 1-1,000,000,000 parents makes the next Albert Einstein into a janitor. Or the next Kaitlyn Jenner into some bitter old man. But for the majority there's a reason your your not an "adult" till 18, Drink till 21, drive till 16, etc... Males age <25 are growing up in a society where they are next to worthless, and they cant deal with toughing it out and making their own place in the world. They're told be whatever you want and we love you... Yea GJ parents you forgot about the rest of the fckin WORLD.

2) Stop medicating kids under 18 so easily. There should be some sort of thing to exhaust all other options.
As someone who has taken ******** unprescribed "to study" lol, im sure it helps corrects certain things in certain people. But man I would never wish having to take a pill daily to feel like that on any child that didn't REALLY REALLY need it. Especially telling them "This is supposed to be what normal feels like." At that point on or off the drugs their screwed. I cant imagine what anti-depressants are like.

Honestly I think this will deal with 75% if not more of the problem.

But wtf do I know. Glad I don't have kids growing up in this fcked up world.

No.

I'd rather ban the liberal agenda that has destroyed the United States.

We need more Conservative ideals. This country was founded by Conservative Christians. We need to go back to it.

Parents can't even parent their kids anymore because liberals will empower children to call the government and take the kids away.

How about this, when you have a known threat, a guy who has made explicit threats to the point that he isn't allowed on campus with a backpack, you take the steps necessary to keep him from getting into the school at all. Wouldn't that be smart?

Do people think banning guns would be easy to do? Like every American that owns a gun would just give it up? Mental illness is more of an issue. Mental illness with access to guns = mass murderers.

True story.

Although I'd say "many", your statement implies only one. That's not going to cut it.

DUI same thing. Clearly the laws in place don't work.

Kind of like the criminal empowerment zones the idiots call "gun free". They dont' work.

Spewing gun statistics isn't helping anyone. The logic behind saying only a small percentage of people use guns to commit crimes is fundamentally flawed. Something created for the sole purpose of efficiently killing other people doesn't have place in society anymore.

No, it's not 'fundamentally flawed' although it does an outstanding job pointing out the absurdity of claiming that most people can't be trusted with guns.

That isn't their sole purpose, but, even if it was, that would be what makes them so important.
