the average response time for the police in Parkland Fl, according to their own web page documentation which I’ve included in the link is 5-6 minutes. This leaves the gunman 5-6 minutes of shooting with repercussion

if anyone in the proximity of this shooter had been allowed to carry a firearm this gunman would have been dead before killing so many students.
or you know the shooter could have prevented from getting access.

If you didn't believe in eternal punishment, there was swift corporal punishment. You didn't get 25 years of appeal after appeal from your free hippie legal team while you wasted away in prison corresponding with your groupies and watching MSNBC like mass murderers do now. Look up how quickly the Lindbergh baby kidnappers were brought to justice or the killers of Lincoln. Beyond that, there was also the shame that you brought upon your family and friends. Does that even exist now? I don't think so.

Not sure why you brought up the Catholic Church. America has always been Protestant, with a small Catholic minority. Just another typical strawman from people like you - atheists. A discussion of the ****/pederast scandal is a separate issue.

The Crusades were a just response to centuries of rape, murder, and banditry committed against Christians journeying to the holy land. I'm not surprised you don't know this. It fits with your lack of knowledge in many other areas (as you display here on the Misc). ISIS has nothing to do with God. We're talking about the USA. Islam is as foreign to our culture as toothbrushes are to yours.

Now, why don't you fuk off, you Scottish fairy.

The keyword is "brainwashed." The media sure is doing a wonderful job of that regarding a number of topics.

The US should study violent mass shooting statistics in other highly developed countries around the world. Compile the data and see why some highly developed countries in the EU for example have significantly lower mass shooting events. Then try to figure out why and mirror whatever it is that country does to minimize this all too frequent chitty event.

Oh wait, we already know. It's called gun control.

But keep herp derpin idiots. That AR15 is totally necessary to protect your ****ty studio apartment or gaming room in your parents suburban basement.

However, my point is that it is precisely because of this fact that we cant allow our rights to be abused. We cant just ignore the fact that as things currently stand too many of these shootings are occuring for our tastes in 2018 so we need some changes
The media shouldn't be allowed to cover these the way they cover other stories as part of the 24-hour news cycle. Too many knuckleheads don't know the difference between being famous and infamous. I think a big part of the appeal to outcasts like these is to know that everyone will know who they are after they commit their crimes. That can only happen with a media that makes it happen. It's been nearly 20 years since Columbine. There is no reason those two POS should be remembered as anything other than "those two POS" and yet, everyone recognizes Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold as their names. Movies have been made about what they did. The media still brings them up from time to time. In a sane world, people running news organizations would know not to publicize the perps and not to make them celebrities (of a sort). That's one thing that can be done now.

1. Other countries dont have a right to gun ownership embedded in their foundation

2. It's not about access to guns. It's about the kinds of people living in your country. Unless you honestly believe tons of people are just itching commit mass murder in other countries but since no guns they just play xbox instead. I mean get real.

The USA needs to do more to prevent these people from getting weapons, but the laws arent the root problem. It's the insanity and evil of some of these scumbags that want to take these actions

The UK is in the midst of an epidemic of stabbings and acid attacks. Humans adapt. Without guns, they'll find something else to use.

The Swiss have plenty of guns, but they don't have these sorts of senseless mass killings (with one or two exceptions). It's not the guns. It's the people. It's the culture. It's the fraying of the threads of society.

So this kid wouldn't have shot up the school if he didn't have that evil "assault rifle?" A couple handguns would have been just as effective.

I mean less damage can be done with knives than a gun. Thats still a strong argument for gun control in that case

1. The amendment you so conveniently refer to is in reference to fukin muzzle loaded single shot muskets. You think the founding fathers would want any anxiety ridden, issue coping with reality, snotty sleeve 18 year old being capable of owning an assault rifle?

The purpose of that amendment is to protect your household from the government or foreign invading military occupation (ie: quartering British soldiers during the revolutionary war)

The reality: the US military would never attack the American public in masse. Because the US military IS the American public....and no foreign army is coming to take over your living room

This happened a few weeks ago in kansas. The kid used a handgun for the shooting and he killed I think 3 and injured a few more. But liberals didnt say anything about gun control because they always claim to not care about handguns. Weird situation man

It doesnt matter what their purpose was at the time. They gave us the right and never said it was ok to delete it as soon as it's deemed ok by enough people.

No, I dont think they would want dangerous people to have an ar 15, BUT NOBODY DOES NOT EVEN THE NRA. We all want to prevent these people from doing this stuff. What we dont want is to infringe on the rights of everyone else to do it

How about we first compare the number of lawful defensive gun uses, and figure out what we can do to increase those in other countries?

Why shouldnt the average citizen who's not going to kill someone not have an assault rifle? What difference does that make to me?

We need to be more precise in our solutions. The problem isnt joe blow with his guns next door.

So why should you be able to tell me how I should be able to defend myself?

And are you saying handguns should be allowed but not sporting rifles? Handguns are used way more for crime all over the world, and that included the United States.

He was a known threat, not to be allowed on campus wearing a backpack.

Knowing the guy might show up and kill everybody does you no good when you are a "gun free" criminal empowerment zone. Stop or I'll yell loudly!

No civilian needs to own an assault rifle...Hand guns, hunting weapons (bows, shotguns, bolt action rifles, should be allowed only)
"Assault rifle" is such a scary term. It's too bad it's a fake news term. True assault rifles have a selective fire option that allows for full auto mode. Those weapons are highly controlled and very expensive to obtain (unless you're in a Mexican cartel, in which case Obama secretly shipped a bunch to you and your buddies to play around with). No true assault rifles have been used in these mass shootings. The AR in AR-15 does not stand for "assault rifle", it stands for Armalite, the original manufacturer. An AR-15 is just like any other rifle. 1 trigger pull = 1 bullet fired.

Knowing the guy might show up and kill everybody does you no good when you are a "gun free" criminal empowerment zone. Stop or I'll yell loudly!
Haha. I guess there's not much you can do about random bad apples with seriously messed up mental health.

Sadly i think the above poster who promotes the idea of countries needing proper religious foundations for moral guidance is the only buffer against this kind of crap.
