Supervisor called me out via crew text

Hi guys, just looking for advice regarding this message and what i should do/what avenues i can take to get the best result for this message from my supervisor.

My brother in law was my supervisor before he took another job a few weeks ago and this guy hasn't been at the company more than a month.



He let the original yard worker go today and offered me the job so i accepted. Received this message that gets sent to everyone in the work crew.

To be honest i am pretty pissed off to say the least, not going to get into a fist fight with this guy either.

My brother told me to just find another job asap and report him to HR. But i'd be much happier seeing this dude lose his job.

Save the text permanently, show it to HR, and whatever you do - do NOT send him any retalitory texts that flame him back. He will get talked to about it, and you won't get in trouble. Furthermore, you are basically impossible to fire now as long as he's your boss and you keep that text in your personal records since you can claim retaliation for reporting him now. Having proof of your boss calling you derogatory names in writing is a much bigger deal than just whining about him supposedly saying chit verbally, since you have clear cut proof of wrongdoing ln his part.

But to be serious here; How big is your company, is his boss a no non sense guy and is the guy buddy-buddy with management? I highly doubt they will let the guy off because you reported him for calling you a bitch. If you report him they will just give him a slap on the wrist and he'll subtly make your life a living hell.

I've worked in big corp environments and they won't ever fire a guy for doing **** like this. **** like sexual harassment or huge **** ups will only get you fired right off the bat.
