Frankfurts crime rate is a joke - attached to Frankfurt is the largest airport in continental Europe and every time someone violates customs (by bringing some odd souvenir from his vacation with him, or not-taxed luxury good) it gets added to the crime statistic, so its bloated.

I couldn't stand to walk around German capitals nor French capitals these days. Fortunately there's plenty of German architecture to admire in some of the cities here that were not always Polish.
American English syntax is completely different from British English syntax. What I said is completely fine over here. We are separated by a common language, we spell the same words differently and the same words have different meanings based on subtext.

That being said, living in the Old World must have its charms. I always hnnng at Austrian architecture.

I watch a tonne of American speaking channels on YouTube dude, and they always use past tense with "if" when forming hypotheses (unreal conditionals).

https://english.stackexchange.com/qu...an-in-american

Spoiler!
Examples: (Written by native American Speakers)

If I was to make a booking, which rooms are the closest to the pool?
If I was to say what I am, I'd be a Labor man.
If you were to buy the iPhone 8 plus, will you be able to get it activated through Boost?
What would happen to a cactus if it was to be planted in a rainforest?

And here is what I think it means: It’s a way to express a condition that didn't happen, and it could also be used to express a condition that is likely to happen in the future as in the first example.

Is that right, do Americans use the expression often? Please, correct me if I'm wrong

I cannot recall any moment in which I've heard American speakers use present tense to talk about unreal situations/hypotheses. If you could prove me wrong, I'd appreciate it as I can inform my students about it.

It never existed. On average, Italian & French are much sexier, and Eastern European girls wipe the floor with everyone else. Russian girls are just insane.
The top German girls look good, but still not that good if you compare them to the top of the other countries.

I think only country that Germany beats is England. England is just horrendous.

Sorry German I couldn't think of you without thinking of how much better Murica is as a country. But hey your beer gardens are fun to visit, from time to time.

Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way but, in 20 years if you're still here postin' in hhhnnnggg threads, beggin' for mod reps, and braggin' about whales you harpooned from POF, I'll f'in kill ya. That's not a threat, that's a fact, I'll f'in kill ya. You got somethin' none of us have, and you don't owe it to yourself man, you owe it to me. Cuz tomorrow I'm gonna wake up and I'll be red, and I'll still be a socially awkward/FA. And that's all right.

Germany is incredible.

Berlin = favourite city of all time. Good architecture, food, women, cars, history, close proximity to every other Eurozone country, part of the EU, AMAZING intra and intercity travel, free healthcare and education, Merkel.

I'm sure someone on the first page has posted something about migrants, terrorists or the migrant crisis. Pure cope.

True. There's not a better country on this planet. And it's always been that way. Many years ago if someone were to show his German passport to another person they'd usually be in awe and bow down to them out of respect.

Studying in Bremen over the summer. Any advice/tips or recommendations?

Currently taking German as a class and I'm excited to try and use it functionally. First time ever learning a new language and it's a blast!

edit: also, where do you think would be the best place to fly to assuming Bremen's airport isn't big enough for a major international flight like that
