Tried it for 6 months. I lost some weight (a ton of that was water at first, like keto) and I also lost all energy and motivation at the gym, hit a hard plateau, then I'm pretty sure I started losing strength. At the 6 month point my workouts were ****ing terrible. Been on a regular diet since (even high carb to an extent) and feel a million times healthier and am making gains again. If you're simply looking to lose weight, then maybe this diet is OK. But if you want to make gains, forget about it, absolutely terrible. And the fact that charlatans like Pocketliner and the juiced up IG idiots are promoting this BS just confirms to me that it is a bad idea.

Fixed it. Plant Based Science just hosted the content. It's a video pouring over published research. The name of the channel means literally nothing.

I've grown tired of all the diet bullchit. IMO, diets strictly depend on your genetic history and what people really need to do is monitor their physical signs (like poop, complexion, reactions, energy output, etc) in order to determine what works best for them.

For instance, I'm lactose intolerant. Any kind of dairy fuks me up if i don't take an enzyme pill. However, even when i take the pill i can still tell there is something off despite no stomach ache. I've also figured out that my body runs far more efficiently during long endurance activity on a high fat diet than it does high carb. I've noticed eating certain food like beans give me bad gas and unhealthy chits. Any foods with MSG gives me a headache usually. Breads and starches tend to cause tonsil stones (those nasty dried up particles in the back of your mouth that stink like chit when they pop loose).

I think figuring this stuff out is much easier for people with very specific genetic histories like Native Americans. I think the evidence is pretty clear that they do not function well on a western diet considering their rates of diabetes.

the reason statistics show a slightly longer lifespan is because you are lumping healthy meat eaters in with obese people who basically eat everything and comparing it to a group that cares about their health, typically exercises, and is more mindful overall than the average fatty... when you compare apples to apples... did you know that nearly all people who live to be 100+ eat meat products of some sort?

Well yes, because of selection bias. Vegans are significantly more likely to be health concious, hence the reason they have chosen to alter their diet in the first place. Some bumpkin with an iq of 90 eating nothing but meat and bread all day is technically an omnivore as much as someone who eats a mediterranian diet.

That's like me saying "Veganism leads to brittle bones and vitamin deficencies". If a vegan is dumb and doesn't address calcium and b-12 issues then yeah they'd have those issues. Tarring everyone with the same brush when such a wide difference of choices can be made based on "Eats me or Doesn't eat meat" is retarded.

Tried keto once. Bought all the groceries for the first week or two and went low carb for my first day. Went out for a 4 mile run and after the first mile I thought I was literally dying and had to stop.

The ideal diet is 50% fruits and vegetables, 25% rice/pasta/bread and 25% lean meats (red meat should be avoided or only eaten in rare occasions)

My man, I was a vegan for two years based on a lot of the 'vegan science' out there that turned out to be false (Looking at you china study). I promise you, if you actually look at it objectively there is very little clear evidence that shows diets containing appropriate consumption of meat are harmful.

It's like the documentary "What the health" where they show all the studys that show that animal product consumption = diabetes. Whilst forgetting to mention that 3/4 of their studys involvedOBESE PEOPLE. Guess what the leading cause of diabetes is? You guessed it,Obesity . Saying "Oh fat people eat meat and THATS what gives them diabetes" is phucking dumb. Obese vegans will get diabetes too, I promise you.

There's a few problems with your statement here. You tried asserting that being overweight is what gives you diabetes. You know that's categorically not true, right? There are type 2 diabetics that aren't overweight. It's caused by insulin resistance.

Talking about looking at things objectively, the video you quoted contains dozens of published research papers. That is objective.

Firstly, I didn't say being overweight, I said obese. I also said the leading cause of diabetes is obesity, which is actually 100% accurate. Diabetes is the result of insulin resistance you're correst but it is also caused by circulating non-esterified fatty acids that are primarily the result of over-saturated fat cells. Disfunction of pancreatic beta-cells is also a potential cause.

Is it possible to be "Skinny" and have diabetes? Absolutely and if you'd like to know more about that I'd highly suggest a video on the topic that I'll post below that explains the reasoning behind this. I did not mean to imply that Obesity is the only factor that can influence metabolic syndrome only that it is the biggest factor alongside sedentarism and age.

Edit: Also just to mention your point about citing publications, simply citing a publication doesn't make your ascertion objective. Objectivity is the result of intentionally removing bias. It's actually very easy to manipulate data to appear to show something that it actually doesn't.

I've watched all the documentaries and read as much as i can about health. I too find it annoying how biased so much of the stuff is. It's meat! No its carbs! Umm... maybe it is simply how the two are combined. Maybe shoveling a bunch of carbs and a bunch of greasy meat into the gut at the same time is the problem. A lot of the vegan studies seem to leave that part out... oh they're eating meat... okay... what else are they eating with that meat?

Pretty sure people from Okinawa are some of the longest living in the world and their traditional diet includes meat. I've also read that the youth of that culture have gone more western with their diet... lots of refined carbs and garbage... and now they're having western style health problems.

Having done some extreme calorie expenditure activities (see sig), i can tell you that meat/fat/protein is far more useful and effective in endurance than carbs. I can scarf down a bunch of hamburger patties and ride a bike for 10 hours & 100 miles and never get hungry vs. constantly having to snack on carbs if i removed the meat.

Not good. Carbs. protien, fats all need to be moderated in your diet. Moderated. Lot of people say having only meat will shed a lot of fat because of the lack of carbs but thats not the case. EXCESS carbs are stored as fat. And EXCESS protien is used as energy, like carbs are. Thats why you can eat zero carbs and only meat but your in a 5,000 calorie surplus your still gonna get fat because excess protien is used as energy, and when there is left over energy it will be converted to fat. If you make protien too large a part of your diet your body will start to burn protien as its primary source of fuel instead of carbs, leading to an increased tendency for your body to look to break down your muscle when it needs more energy.

The issue is energy balance 9/10 to be completely honest. High fat, low carb and Low fat, high carb both work perfectly fine. Which is why you see keto people doing great and vegan people on the other end of the spectrum doing great. It's the combination of high fats AND high carbs that causes health issues when consumed routinely across time. The reason for this is that carbohydrates supersede fat in terms of energy usage. Which means that if you consume a lot of carbs and a lot of fat, the carbs will be burned first forcing the fat to be stored (this is a simplistic explanation but it's essentially what is going on).

It's not a coincidence that the foods we consider 'worst' for health are foods high in both fats a carbs. Donuts, chips, fries etc. Carbs that have been dumped in fat.

This is true.

It's like the whole thing about beer being unhealthier than wine because a ton of beer-drinkers usually have terrible diets and unhealthy lifestyles compared to wine-drinkers.

There needs to be a comparison of healthy vegans to healthy carnivores to be fair. This is where vegans plug their ears and dismiss the possibility of a healthy carnivore.

But who was Japan? They have the longest lifespans AND include fish and meat in their diet.

Been watching Marc Lobliner. He trashed Keto diets and then goes on this diet. He literally chits liquid for weeks until he add Veggies to the diet. Moron is still trying to pass it off as a Carnivore diet, but with veggies.
