Is The Office worth watching?

The US version..

Lots of my friends talk about it, never saw the show. Thoughts?

I would rate The Office as the best TV show ever. While it's a great comedy, it also has amazing character development throughout the seasons which is what makes it such a great show.

I've watched a lot of TV and am a huge fan of great shows like GoT etc. and I spent a long time trying to determine which is the best show ever (hard to compare genres); but I have recently decided on The Office.

What I say to people that ask if they should watch it > watch at least the first 2 seasons, even if you don't initially like it, get through season 2. If you still don't like it then don't watch.

95% of people will say yes for some reason. I watched like 15 mintues of the first episode and it was pretty dumb so I never bothered with it. I should probably give it a chance but it looks so cringey and stupid :/.

Loved it so much
Watched it twice lol

I’m a big fan of Steve Carrell so I had to stop when he left after season 7

So I watched the office, yes. Twice. But never made it past season 7.

It’s still good when Michael Scott left, but it was just different & hard for me to get used to.

How tf are you gonna give your 2 cents on a 9 season long show based on 15 mins of epsiode 1.

The Office is my "go to" when I need background noise while cooking, browsing the internet, etc. I've seen it so many times I don't need to stay with the story and it still cracks me up.

Lost count of how many times I've seen each episode, guessing maybe 5-10 times. Season 1 is good but season 2 is when it hits its stride.

like ANY show....... it doesn't reach it's prime until later seasons

If you want to see The Office in it's prime, the height of it's comedy........ then check out the mid seasons..... like Season 4 through 6.

The first season of most shows kinda suck compared to the later seasons.

It's the same with FRIENDS, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.......

Only watched a few episodes because a sloot I was Netflix and chilling with liked the show and wanted me to watch it. That was over 3 years ago and I haven’t watched it since. IMO not funny at all-it’s borderline SNL satire

I don’t think that’s an ‘unpopular opinion’. The original is pretty much regarded as the greatest British comic masterpiece since Fawlty Towers. By anyone with a worthwhile opinion anyway.

Awesome show. Definitely fell off a bit after Steve Carell left. If I were you I'd jump in around season 3-4 and then start from the top if you're liking it.
