U.S. Senator Ben Sasse, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement regarding the President’s comments today on due process and the Second Amendment.
“Strong leaders don't automatically agree with the last thing that was said to them. We have the Second Amendment and due process of law for a reason. We're not ditching any Constitutional protections simply because the last person the President talked to today doesn’t like them.”
I hope we have more like him standing by.

Nikolas Cruz’s semiautomatic rifle may have jammed during the massacre at a high school in Parkland earlier this month, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS4.
Cruz then dropped the AR-15 and fled with other students, CBS4 reporter Jim DeFede tweeted Tuesday afternoon, citing three sources familiar with the investigation. Cruz still had 150 rounds of ammunition — meaning many more people could have died had he been able to keep firing.
A source not authorized to speak on the record confirmed to the Herald that Cruz struggled with his gun during the onslaught, either due to the weapon jamming or because he fumbled trying to reload it.
Several state legislators who visited the school with crime-scene investigators said they learned from police that Cruz’s rifle was not top-of-the-line, perhaps explaining the malfunction.
The “weapon and bullets were not high quality and were breaking apart,” one of the legislators, state Sen. Lauren Book, D-Plantation, told the Herald.
Cruz went in with only 10-round magazines because larger clips would not fit in his duffel bag, Book said.
At least DPMS can claim their rifles save lives now.

Of course, the ATF has since ruled that declaring such redesigns the firearm and you are illegally in possession of a "full semi-automatic" firearm.

When the time comes for a new thread, my vote is for "Full Semi Auto" to be included in the title, so it sounds more dangerous.

Speed saying it better than I could as usual. Although I didn't really want to spell it out. We don't need that kind of attention, especially considering the discussion over the past few days.

Just watched Snowden last night.
Holy fak.
I remember when the stories broke, but I’ll be honest, at the time I didn’t really watch the news or pay attention to politics. Was completely uninformed. I saw headlines so I knew **** was crazy, but never read into it.
But damn.

What a time to be alive. Get through the dreaded Obama years unscathed for at least most of us and are all excited for expanding rights like suppressors and whatnot and now we're under the biggest threat yet.
Hopefully all the dumb Trump statements are just him attempting to gain the moderate's support while making it seem like he'll support something and then when the witch and her cronies add an AWB, mag limits, etc. to a bill, he and the GOP can say they went full retard and vote it down. Unfortunately I don't think that's what he's doing, and in the process he's putting the congressman that are 2A supporters in a bad position potentially with their base by making them look extreme if they oppose it. If he really does help shove something big through, there has to be no chance of him getting reelected I would think.

I know that's not what was meant or what it says. I don't even know if Dual was honestly concerned with it either other than pointing it out. But I guess the potential is there.
