Thank you everyone for your prayers and support.

Was a great feeling when my mom started crying when i was telling her the good news over the phone.
the GF was also very emotional.

older brother came to the appointment with me, and he was so ecstatic.

hardest part about everything in the past was having to break the bad news to loved ones.

Unfortunately, there are thousands of different types of cancers.
Hell, there are like 4-5 different types of hodgkins lymphoma, and not all of them are treated the same way.

Ironically, the treatment i receive now, was actually originally designed for Breast cancer. Keytruda.
It just also happens that Hodgkins cells express cells that can be manipulated by a PDL1 blocker.

Cancer treatment breakthroughs are coming at a rapid pace, and have advanced so much in the last 5 years.
It wasnt till like may of 2017 that keytruda even became approved for Hodgkins.

Unfortunately, not all types of cancers get equal funding, and unfortunately, most is spent into breast cancer.

at my clinic, the breast cancer has its own floor, and the waiting rooms and dr visit rooms are beautiful.
So not all of this money donated it being pushed into actual research and cures

Wow.

Cancer is legit the only health fear I have. Chit is bad and can hit anybody for no particular reason. Reading stuff like this makes me not give a fuk about cancer anymore. I know people IRL who have beat cancer easily using the newest treatments. Feels like #timesup for cancer.

unfortunately, while the new advancements are great, there are ridiculous stipulations that each clinical trial has.
And due to these stipulations put up, not many patients ever get to the point where they can healthily qualify for a clinical trial.

for example. I am on a clinical trial of Keytruda and AFM13 which is immunotherapy+BiTE therapy

in order to qualify for this trial.
I needed to have
1. failed 2 seperate chemo regimens
2. failed either 1 chemo regimen and failed stem cell transplant
3. no transplants in the last 5 years
4. must have failed brentuximab regimen
5. no other PDL1 blocker treatments done
6. have sufficient lung and heart function (hodgkins treatment is very damaging to lungs/heart)

my dr told me that only .01% of hodgkins patients become elligible for this trial.
SO its great that its working, but it awful because my family and I have been through so much heartbreak and bad news to get where i am.
