It is. I hope daily that some nut job doesn't begin to shoot up the office while I'm strolling the halls. But I spent 95% of my time within arms length of my bag. The other 5%....jesus take the wheel

I'd assume that if you were carrying in a backpack you probably wouldn't carry it like a backpack. Hang it in a way that is more accessible.

Requiring a specific training program geared towards teachers wouldn't really bother me. But yeah, it's as good as still banned in most districts.

Well with a desk job you're going to be sitting right next to it all day outside of maybe having to go to a meeting. Drawing from ankle carry is slow as **** and would be much easier to get caught, not going to be a ton of difference between that and reaching under your desk and unzipping a compartment. On the remote possibility there is a workplace shooting, the chances are extremely low you're going to be the first one down and not have the chance to get it out.

Hey everybody, i just got my foid card and have been to the range a few times. Im looking to get my fist gun and think ive narrowed it down to 5. I want to use it for range/home defense/possible ccw. What would you choose out of the following and why?

If I were doing it, I would get the HK. I simply like it the most (full disclosure, I'm basing this on my experience with the full size VP9, but from what I understand they're practically identical other than size). The LCR I could maybe see as a back up or once in a while pocket gun, but I wouldn't personally want it as a primary. I don't really care for Glocks. Nothing wrong with them and they're super reliable, so if you like them you can't go wrong with them. If you didn't go HK, I'd probably go here. They just aren't really for me. I haven't shot the FN so I can't really speak on it. The P365 is still new and untested on a large scale, and saw some concerns in early testing, so it wouldn't be something I trusted right away.

Even with something as tiny as a Microcompact RUGER LCP II in 380 auto? I don't think an ankle holster would be visible at all. Hell worst case scenario you pocket carry it with the pocket holster it comes with

Today was one of those days where you're driving to the gym but do drive through at BK instead. Had the preworkout already and was just NOPE'ing it, tired, achy, etc. So had to do BK like speedchaster always reccomeneds. That BK9 head. did 16 of the cheesy tots (hng they are good) and 3 chicken mcnuggem sandwhiches and a large orange FANTA

Leaving work in 10-15 minutes or so... trying to decide if I want to go the gym. I'm sore af for some reason right now. Almost everything. Except my hands and chest of all things. Might take today off.

Carry a Shield or G43 AIWB or Smartcarry or belly band or ankle

I’ve had this issue lately in the gym where I get like 30-40 minutes in and just lose all fukin motivation. Monday I just sat on a bench for like 6-7 minutes contemplating leaving.

I would not buy the P365, right now that just isn't smart IMO unless you already have multiple pistols including at least one that does the exact same things you would do with the P365, it's unproven and already had a wave of stopped production/fixes just like many of us predicted...and that may not be through (you'd still be a beta tester).

The LCR is quite different from the rest, obviously, based on all the advantages of a semi auto I'd write off the LCR.

Glock 19 is larger than all the rest there. If you carry concealed a G19 is the largest you should consider for a first/only. It's probably a good choice there but the others will all conceal better more easily under more clothing choices.

The Glocks are the most popular, the most common, the easiest to work on yourself (don't even consider detail stripping the VP series), and have by far the most available and well priced aftermarket (accessories, magazines, holsters, sights, you name it). The FNS 9C is a great little gun but doesn't have that much support, probably it has or will have the least support of everything on that list. The VP9SK IMO shoots the best, and will have adequate support...I'd choose between the Glocks and the VP9SK. IF you have shot both then just pick the one you would rather go shoot tomorrow. If you haven't, can you? Shooting a full size VP9 would be close enough to give you an idea on the SK.

I wear scrubs, I move around a lot, I interact with people constantly and am in close contact with direct supervisors daily

not risking my livelihood - there are zero other institutions like the one I work at in this city

Whats wrong with ankle carrying a RUGER LCP II? (upper calve carry actually) A ruger LCP II would be zero printing at all, and could do it comfortably 365 days of the year

A Wheat Ridge gun dealer who became a Discovery Channel reality TV star on Thursday was sentenced to 78 months in prison for failing to report $1.1 million in income to the IRS, conspiracy and dealing firearms without a license.

Richard Wyatt was found guilty last year in U.S. District Court on 10 felony counts.

Wyatt secured a lucrative contract with the Discovery Channel to star in a television show, “American Guns,” about his shop Gunsmoke Guns, even though he did not a license to deal guns. Wyatt was paid $500,000 for the 26 episodes in 2011 and 2012 that featured him, his wife, two children and employees.

Wyatt entered an agreement with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to relinquish his federal firearm license in 2009.

I do not carry into my work environment. There is a state law in place that allows you to keep a gun in your vehicle if there isn't a fence around the parking lot. But, I don't do that anymore either bc we've had a rash of vehicle robberies here

there's also a state law that would protect me if I was fired for carrying but even if I sued for wrongful termination and won, they aren't under any obligation to hire me back
