There is no issue. You're the one thinking there is. The rules are fine as is and he breaks none of them.

It allows you to move the maximum amount of weight. Answer is obvious

That's kind of a loaded question. You should absolutely adopt some of these techniques for technical proficiency and safety as Bobby mentioned. Whether you should push it this far is really dependent on your goals

This only thing I agree with you about and yes loop holes exist and everyone now abuses them but be sure its legal. Even with those loop holes people never gain much from them, their base strength is always pretty good.

The issue I had with you is speculating that he's weak and not jacked when you can't even unrack the weight yourself while coping like this :

Add in a reasonable restriction on arch and you've got a proper rule set.

Ok, set what that is and how to measure it during a competition but do so in a way that the lifter isn’t impeded and the other 69 lifters flings that day aren’t waiting 4-5 minutes per lifter. A measurement like that can’t be subjective.

We literally walked on the moon. I'm pretty sure some idiot can figure out a way to properly and fairly measure a back arch. This guy goes to MIT, let him figure it out.

I proposed keeping it in line with the restrictions on squat where the crease of the hip has to travel below the knee. Potentially, the crease of the elbow should travel below the shoulder.

Also, no one is debating whether the rule was broken or not I don't know what you're even addressing that for.

Not my job. PL is apparently a joke anyway if rules allow this kind of thing, so I'm not going to waste any effort.

Then shut the fuk up about rules if you're not going to give anything constructive. Won't even figure out how to measure arch despite that being your whole beef with a guy half your age, on the internet, who is better than you in every possible way.

Point being, Elon Musk's retarded younger brother could figure this out. The only reason it hasn't been changed is because doing a reasonable arch would cause #'s to drop. And at the end of the day, all PLers care about is numbers. Zero self respect as to whether those #'s were achieved through strength or through bull**** leverage techniques. When you're benching with 90 degree arch and 2" range of motion, you've failed. That the rules say you haven't fails just means the rules suck, doesn't change the fact that your technique is bull****.

Pretty sure that benching 550 with a 90 arch right above your neck is also a good way to hurt yourself. Without his boyfriends nearby to help, that is a deadly failure.
