I've been married for almost sixteen years and I'd like to keep it that way. So I think we'll just keep our relationship between ourselves.
I'm not saying it's impossible to make something like that work over the long term, but I do think it's highly unlikely.
But maybe I'm an outlier. I've never wanted to cheat on my wife once.

Money versus self-respect? Tough call!
and I wish I saved the link to that reddit thread where the guy and his wife decided to meet a swinger couple and the guy instantly regrets it as soon as he sees and hears his wife getting her insides rearranged by the other husband, and was considering divorce.

Right? I'd rather be dead broke and live in a box than be in an arrangement like that knowing my husband spent 100% of his time chasing girls. Jeezus loweezus.

It really depends on the person/people involved. Humans are wired to be monogamous, but naturally there are always going to be anomalies. I wasn't into open relationships until I met my current partner, and I'm secure enough in myself that it doesn't bother me as long as he tells me when he's going to sleep with someone else. I love him enough to want him and urge him to be who he is, which is a non-monogamous creature. I've also slept with other people and told him beforehand, so it's a two-way street.
Basically, if you're okay with it, and the other person is 100% on board, it works.
It takes a special kind of person to be truly honest with themselves and their partner as to whether they can handle an open relationship. It's not for most people, but for some it really works. I've always been monogamous, but it took me being in this relationship to find that this was exactly what I was missing from other relationships. Freedom. I don't like being tied down to one person, though I'm not out actively searching for other partners outside of my primary partner. If the time is right and I meet someone I want to be physical with, I let my partner know and I make sure I'm using protection, and everything is great. Just having the option is liberating, and won't lead to resentment or feelings of being stuck.
Myself and my partner still sometimes get jealous, but we talk about it and say, "hey, I'm feeling this way, just letting you know," and we give each other a bit of reassurance or just spend a bit more time together to feel better. All in all, it works for us because we're wired the same way. Most people are NOT wired like myself and my primary partner.

Are the two of you married? How long have you been together and doing this?
