Fukit i'm digging this thread up again.
So last few weeks or so I've been speaking on and off to this girl I met at one of the recent parties my accommodation hosts. Same age, in the last year of a law degree, doesn't smoke or do drugs and overall just seems like a really nice person which is pretty much exactly what I looking for. Anyways she seems to be going very hot/cold with me lately and leaving my messages on read then replying to them after a long period of time. Probably means shes playing very hard to get, shes not as interested as I think or I'm not first priority.
I decided to go all in and invite her to get drinks with me on Wednesday and she accepted, however shes also sending me messages about other random chit which is making me wonder whether she sees me as a friend instead of a potential partner. (Message was something about her having her key stolen in the post). Maybe I'm overthinking but if you were interested in someone why would you send them messages about your stupid problems? Now I'm wondering how to play this without potentially friend zoning myself if I haven't already. My instinct is to swerve her problem and be super aggressive on the date and see what happens.
Anyone have any other suggestions on how to play this?
TLDR:
Speaking to girl on and off for past few weeks.
Lately been hot/cold, showing plenty of interest at times then leaving me on read and replying like 12 hours later.
OP says fukit and invites her on a drinks date Wednesday, she accepts then explains she has a situation where her key was stolen in the post (not exactly something you'd bring up with someone you're seeing)
Likely that OP may be in the friend zone, but should he disregard her problem and be aggressive on the date or is there another alternative here?

Update:
Sent her a message at dinnertime asking if we were still on for drinks tonight. Her reply: "Not sure haha I have tests to do. Deadline is midnight".
Looks like another one down, guess its NC from now on unless one of you guys has an idea on how to turn this around?

Hi, is this thread alive? Need someone to chat with and give me motivation. Was kinda motivated and cheerful the past few days but today just couldnt get her out of my head, constantly thinking about her and our memories. Even though i was busy all day. I will be meeting with her tomorrow and will probably tell her how i feel, will see what happens.
Anyway please can anyone give me some break up motivation.
For anyone unaware me and my gf of 4 years split up 2 weeks ago.

Checking in once again:
So I ended up meeting the girl I previously mentioned and helped her with her tests which ended up getting her through to the next stage of the application. The weeks after consisted of us going on dates, going to the library to study and I stopped at hers a few nights too. Escalated it to fooling around a few times but never had full blown sex because shes very conservative (No smoke, Tattoos, Piercings, Comes from super strict family etc.) and wanted to wait until it was serious.
Anyways things are going pretty well but today she hit me with the FZ message which I was half expecting. Long story short we're both on the verge of completing our degrees and will be moving to different cities in a few months once university is finished and because of her stress due to studying and not wanting a LTR post university she wanted to just be friends. So I replied saying I appreciate her honesty but I'm not looking for friendship right now and she got very aggressive with me: "Shows how little you give a chit when you cant be friends with someone you had stronger intentions with." (LOL)
Don't get me wrong I understand the logic behind her initial decision and I had somewhat guessed it was coming. Not much of an argument from me although I think I should have probably tried to escalate further at times but her upbringing kinda put me off being overly aggressive with this one but it's a lesson for the future. Her reaction to declining her friendship was very amusing though, I don't suppose anyone has any stories of coming back from this position?
TLDR:
OP has been seeing girl for few months now, things going fairly well despite us both being bogged down with studying for deadlines/exams ect.
Hits me with the friendzone today due to stress from studying and we're both due to leave to different cities after we graduate. OP was half expecting this.
OP declines friendship and girl gets very upset and aggressive towards OP. (LOL)
OP probably going NC now and pursuing a backup, not overly bothered about the girl now but has anyone come back from a similar situation?

The chances of it surviving the long distance were slim but most of her values matched mine so I definitely thought it was worth pursuing. Don't get me wrong, she was far from a unicorn but she was probably the closest thing I've seen to my ideal partner so far so I was willing to give it a decent shot if things were going well. In my opinion being friends then coming across her again in the future sounds like a slimmer chance than the LDR but if her reasons for calling it off are correct, there's nothing stopping us rekindling it if we meet again someday, (Providing she still isn't still butthurt about it).Problem is you've been treating her like a friend from the beginning. Okay, so back to the logging.
Last time I talked to the 42yo hottie was almost two weeks ago. We had a good thing going at first, but then she told me the distance was too much. We stayed in contact and she asked if we could start over, so wen went out a few more times. We had great chemistry, but after she gave up on us I found myself closed off to her and I think she picked up on it the last time we went out. She's also kind of a drama magnet, which isn't my thing, is currently going through a divorce, and she lives 100 miles away, so I just haven't followed up and I doubt she will, too, but it was fun while it lasted.
During that time I also went out with a 31 YO. We went on 3 dates and seemed to click, but I could tell something was off. She was agreeing to see me and we had fun when we went out, but I just felt it was a bit forced, so I stopped contacting her and she never kept in contact with me either.
I also went out with a 34 yo a few times. Really sweet woman. I would have liked to get to know her better, but she wants to have a kid, even if it's adoption, since she was aware I can't have more kids. That was really the only thing holding me back.
I got lunch with a 26 YO on Tuesday. She seems nice enough, but she has two young kids. Not quite as good as good looking as her pictures, but I don't think we really hit it off that well anyway. I think the age gap is too much.
Last week I met a 38 yo. We pretty much have everything in common which is pretty neat. We've talked every day since matching a few weeks ago. Got sushi/wine for dinner then went to a brewpub. The next afternoon we went for a run together. Our third date will be tonight. I'm taking her on a ride on my motorcycle out to the beach to get some dinner and watch the sun set.
I'm also talking to a few others here and there, but no plans with them as of yet.

Not much to write home for myself recently tbh. Finished uni and results are looking really positive, started a new job that's going to be a big test going forward but plenty of opportunities for progression. One of my close friends recently had a moment whilst attending a church service and has gone full blown christian from being very strongly atheist in the last few months. He invited me to his baptism and since then I've been going to the sunday service on and off when we decide to meetup. The people there seem really welcoming, and there is a few cute girls attending the service regularly as well which I wouldn't mind getting to know them.
Does anyone have experience with dating church girls? I was hoping they would be less inclined to revolve around drama like most of the other girls I speak to. Also might be worth mentioning that I am interested in learning more about Christianity, not just speaking to them for a quick smash and dash by pretending to be interested with the religious stuff.

As far as dating church girls, depending on the denomination they will be looking for a husband (at least the devout ones). Don't expect full on sex, but maybe other stuff. Some could be late bloomers, some could be former party girls that wanted some change in life and found Jesus. It's a mix. They can be very "soft" and emotional at the littlest things. They can also be very judgmental about some of the worldly things you may like, i.e drinking, going to bars, concerts, etc. If you can find a church girl that's conservative, yet "worldly" and not judgmental date her!Nice to see you're still on the grind mate, I'm sure something will come good soon. Women like to be pursued. Maybe not the ones in their 20's still in their "go to club/get drunk/have ONS/repeat next weekend" phase, but after a certain point, when they are looking for more mature relationships. I guess it feeds their ego that they're still desirable enough for men to pursue them. There is a difference between playing hard to get and not being interested. You should use the "3 strike rule" instead of the "1 strike rule". Don't go overboard with the chasing, but if you're bailing after just 1 not answered text, you're missing opportunities.

I just can't bring myself to initiate again, but she's not initiating either, which further validates my feeling. At that point I'm 95% sure if I tried it would be met with resistance. Is that 5% worth the trouble?I mean, if everything was going good, I shouldn't even have to question how interested she really is. It should be obvious.
I'll text those two women and report back. My gut feelings are rarely wrong, so this will be an interesting test.
