This thread has far too much one-itis advocacy going on IMO. The only exceptions should be both people agree to date only each other (and it comes from her) and or if you have insane chemistry/hang daily and you can just tell that your both not seeing other people. Only the odd woman will run away if she has competition, but majority will work harder as a result, especially the hot ones

Well I know this chick wasn't into drugs. I joked around on our first date when she mentioned she couldn't date a heavy drug users. I said "what about a light drug user?". I was totally joking.

That might be the reason. Drugs are a deal breaker for me, even light use. I'd just say so though.

Shouldn't be kept secret. I'd want to know if someone was a previous drug user. Especially if it was the more addictive substances.

Yeah hide all the deep and important aspects of your character until later on. That'll work well.

If you have strong political beliefs that define you then you should be open about it.

Keeping secret the most important aspects of yourself is going to be problematic. I understand no one wants to be rejected especially on critical components of themself. But what results is we only scratch the surface of each other and as a result we can only form shallow transitory connections. When relationships progress further and we reveal more things can tend to fall apart. Or you just keep things hidden away and carry that burden until it breaks you. I know what I'm proposing is stupid and no one is going to put themself out there like that. But it's really what's hindering us. If it's important to you that you are accepted for some particular trait, idealogy, etc then it's best to get it out of the way early rather than later.
