Bought several April 20 puts last week, strike price of 265 for $17. Sold them all for $24. Twas a healthy profit. I plan on doing the same now that we've had a bounce and there are people lining up to catch the falling knife.

They've already done it at 240 mph back in December, the track isn't long enough yet - but soon.

Not sure I understand the point of misc acting like a bunch of troglodytes.

Can you imagine being inside a near vacuum going 740MPH........

.....and hitting air rushing in though a structural failure?

energy = mass X velocity X velocity <- velocity squared is what kills you

In the event of an accident you have to dissipate the energy of a human going 740MPH at a rate well within the limits a weak human can survive.

Starting at 740MPH that is going to take a tremendous distance to reach 0 safely.

You can do the math if you feel like it. 740MPH is 330 meters/second.

You can calculate the survivable deceleration distance and rate using roughly 5Gs for a close to 100% survival rate. Keep in mind that at 5Gs some people might die but most wont.

@740MPH you are traveling 330 meters per second. If something goes wrong, it does not need to happen near you to have it near you in an instant.

With a human?

240 is nothing BTW as velocity counts twice. 100KG @ 480MPH is not twice the energy as 100KG @ 240MPH, its much MUCH more.

Actually have any of your replies involved math? You post links about this topic but don't seem to be commenting at all on the physics involved.

Not to worry. They can lose all of their money every day and the government will always bail them out. Investors might get screwed but they dont care.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

I do actually believe that a bailout would happen. There is no chance in hell that we won't end up with a massive lean to the left in the next 10 to 20 years. The choice between triggering hundreds of millions of useful idiots and bailing out fantasy land is an easy choice when its not your $.

They got bailed out once, and paid that money back with interest. Can't say that about most of the places that got bail out money.

No one bats an eye about oil and coal subsidies, but everyone loses their mind when an electric car company gets a small loan and pays it back with interest.
