Sounds like you're afraid, mate. Nothing wrong with not wanting kids, but I'm not sure I follow your reasoning, really. Just because you had a chitty child hood doesn't mean your kids have to. Like the other poster said, this can be a chance to "right the ship". This girl sounds like a gem if she's really the way you describe her. Think hard about breaking this off because you'll probably never find someone like her who will put up with you and your misanthropy.

Lmao just lmao @ playing videogames at 30 years old.

It’s a tough one op. Even if you have kids that doesn’t mean everything will turn out for the better.
But what if you break up with her then regret it because before you know it you have become a single and childess 40 year old who plays videogames and watches netflix alone.

I don't look at it as your time wasted like the others are saying. Did you have a good time? Did you learn about yourself and her? Did you become a better person?

But because your subconscious is bringing out these worries, you should probably tell her what you think about your life moving forward so your both on the same playing field and she can choose what she wants to do

You're getting some harsh but good advice. Loyal no nonsense girlfriends don't exactly grow on trees. You better make sure you're doing the right thing before you throw away three years of your life and a proven mate, I would not throw it away on a whim. Relationships are all about compromise. Nothing you listed is a deal-breaker unless you decide kids are not for you. You'll never find someone who is going to mirror you 100%. Put in a little effort. Do some chores. Be somewhat flexible. Tell her how you feel. Communicate. Do what she likes from time to time. Most guys here would give their left nut for what you got.

I think you need therapy to workout your childhood issues no matter what life you want to live

And to be honest with gf who seems like quite a catch, she will eventually get over you and build the life she wants

time will march on anyway whatever you decide ..if you are set on how you want your life to be at 40 or 50 or even 70 then you need to open the conversation with her

Having a tough childhood doesn't mean you shouldn't have kids man. On the contrary, it's given you good insight into how important it is to be a good parent and how much it matters to a kid. You can keep this in mind and be the kind of father a man should be. Based on what you've written this girl sounds like she'll be a great mom and wife, you are lucky to have her in your life.

On the other hand if your concern is really that having a kid will be too big of an imposition on your life then yes you should let her go.

Buuuuuut... She wants a kid (and maybe several of them). We've been together for about 3 years and she would like a kid in the next 2 years. I could see her being a great mother.

Now I'm not sure where I stand on the kid. I'm quite against the idea of having a child for several reasons:

- I had a pretty sucky childhood. My parents beat me a lot, lots of fights in between my parents, no money etc, had to wear same clothes for a whole year in high school. So that traumatized me.
- I'm quite introverted, andI like spending time in front of the computer playing games and watching movies. I'm into nerdy stuff. Formatting my computer and reinstalling windows 10, tweaking it and reinstalling all the programs is great entertainment for me for instance. It's not that I don't enjoy social contact, but mostly only with my girlfriend and over the internet with other people, and maybe going to a social event once or twice a month.
- I know raising a kid is quite hard. Years of sleepless nights, no more alone time, financial drain etc. The possibility of having a handicapped child.

Then again, all the Hallmark moments of having a kid do appeal to me. Spending Christmas together, celebrating birthdays, travelling etc... But I know those come at a cost, namely the above. Also, I'm not sure if I want to go the childfree route my entire life. Maybe I'd regret it.

There are also some key differences between me and my girlfriend:

- She's a quiet girl who's only concern is to enjoy life. She's not into money, career or other superficial stuff. She just wants family time, time with me and time doing fun stuff. I, on the other hand, enjoy a quiet life in which not every weekend involves an activity. She likes to do stuff most of the time.
- I have somewhat of an early retirement and money fetish. I try to save money on everything, but not overdo as to irritate her. We had some big fights about money. She doesn't throw it out the windows, but she doesn't like to skip stuff in favor of saving the money either.
- I can be a lazy bastard most of the time, and I procrastinate doing house chores until the last minute. Of course when she comes home and she sees I haven't done much she's massively disappointed.
- She's not that much into nerdy stuff. She likes watching movies and shows with me, but that's about it. I would like for her to play games with me but I realize that's a very rare trait in a girl.
- I'm quite selfish, she is very selfless.

So wut do misc? It's mostly the kid issue which is breaking my balls.
You need to evolve.

Instead of watching movies and tv shows that where the characters are saying and doing chit you wish you were doing/saying. How about you do some of those things, speak your mind like they do become the realistic version of these people, the best you.

Instead of tweaking your PC to make to reach peak optimization, learn to use a new software how about you divert that energy into a new, more healthy hobby. Been building PC's since age 12 for myself, family and all friends I get it, it's time to grow up. Unless you're going to realistically make something out of it as in you're good at coding and have lots of ideas for apps and projects in the works lettuce be real OP, you're overclocking your CPU/GPU, you're installing mods on games/customizing your OS. That's not productive it's something you do in your spare time after the "work" is done when your a teen.

How about you learn jiu-jitsu, learn to play an instrument, learn to cook amazing food for you and your wife/wife's family on occasion, or whatever life enriching hobby floats your boat. Put that energy into giving your child all the tools you can for him/her to be the best version of themselves they can be, to live life to the full. It sounds like you're about to make the worst decision of your life that I can only imagine ends in one of two ways.

Suicide once you realise humpty dumpty had a great fall and all the king's horses an all the kings men couldn't put humpty together again.

A dark never ending sea of self loathing depression wishing you would end it all but you know in your heart of hearts you lack the balls to do it, realizing this and that you have done it all to yourself and it only gets worse with the passage of time you eventually overdose or die from obesity/sedentary lifestyle at an early age but not before experiencing decades of the hell on earth that is the remainder of your perpetual dopamine high low cycle seeking useless existence.

-The realest chit I ever wrote on this misc 2018.

This is all coming from me, a person who intends to not have kids himself but for completely unrelated reasons (philosophical) than yourself.

Happiness is not just something that happens OP, you need to work for it. If theirs one thing worth working for it's that.

You sound like a selfish dikhead right now OP. She sounds like a great person who has flaws just like you do with your nerdy computer chit. You need to talk to her with an open mind about it but I'm pretty sure you'll decide a kid is a rewarding process.

Break up with her for her own good. You seem very bitter about your childhood and it seems like you need to see someone to help you move on.

Do her a favor and break up with her srs, you're a loser and she deserves better... Not hating on you, I have the same personality as you and would feel really bad about wasting years of a nice girl's life.. Just smash hookers and play videogames and hope you die before 50 because life without a family is pathetic when you're old.

Or change and count your blessings that you find a girl like that among an ocean of new age sloots and have a normal life with her..

or this is just a fake/brag thread and op is a *******

Lol @ using words like roastie, being a *******, and thinking a house and car equates to a good life. If you act/think like this in real life you should set her free to find an actual man and spend a couple years becoming one yourself.

Slack-jawed ******* over here.

1) People have kids because that's what sex was meant to do. Reproducing is the natural order for living things. Take your supreme bullchit about "normal" being for "sheep"andyour dirty fedora back to the Emo Gazebo.

2) If you don't want to have kids, that's fine, but you shouldn't let your whackjob parents control your attitude toward life like the cuck you obviously are. You sound like you have serious psychological issues that you need to address. What woman would ever respect a man who let his mommy and daddy decide the course of his life for him, even if it's indirect through abuse?

3) Yes, at 27, wanting kids in 2 years, she's starting to run low on time. She'll probably still be able to succeed, but the odds of a miscarriage and other complications increase significantly after 30. You don't want a kid with a disability but you might actually be causing her to end up raising one. Your extreme selfishness is evident in your conclusion that she can always just do IVF or adoption once you screw up her life, as if that isn't a burden, both emotionally and financially. This is something that's important to her and you're fuarking her over with your beta indecisiveness.

4) Don't kid yourself. If you have another mission in life besides fatherhood or even just want to smash a lot of puzz, people can respect that. You do not. You aren't on your grind, getting your house in order, building something meaningful. "Oh, I prefer nerdy things." "I am an introvert!" Don't sugarcoat being a lazy recluse playing make-believe with video games and movies instead of doing anything real with your life. I like video games and movies too, but I'm balancing that with a career, college, home improvements, travel, and chasing tail while still saving aggressively for an early retirement.

You are not special, different, edgy, or smarter than everyone else. You are an underachiver. Dump her because she does not have time to waste on you and it's unethical for you to keep stringing her along. "Aw, but I can't end it, I do love her." No, you don't.Sheloves you, and is likely at least somewhat co-dependent, because she puts up with you instead of telling you to fist yourself. You only loveyourselfor you'd be taking responsibility for your end of the relationship. You are a disappointment to her and will only let her down further. Cut her loose so you are free to spend the next two years fixing yourself while she can meet a man who she can actually be with.

Jesus Christ. You are 30. I would neg you in real life.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

You will deeply regret breaking up with this girl. You sound like a huge nerd who is ugly. The chances of you finding another genuine girl like this is very slim bro. The fact that you went through 3 years with this girl and didnt discuss these issues with her shows you're a scumbag. You were using this girl until it became too serious, and now you want to bail. NEGGED.

Grow tf up and try not to miss your - most likely - only chance in your life to start a family with a girl who seems to be a genuine caring person with the right priorities. Realize that there are quite a lot of people who would gladly switch places with you.

It's you, not her.
