How did 6ix9ine become so popular???

I'm only aware of him because of that thread from sword and people I know are following him on Instagram. Whats his appeal? Why is he so popular in this day and age?

According to wiki his hit song "Gummo" was released on November 10, 2017 and eventually peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It was certified platinum by the RIAA on March.

Well he has a very unique style both musically and in his physical image.

However its his image that gained him all of his initial attention. Once the clicks started coming ut of curiosity of "who the fk is this fgt" it was perfect time to release music. His management now are paying hip hop media outlets and especially DJ AKADEMIKS, instagrams most popular source of A.D.D style reporting of hip hop, who push his product and stories literally all day everyday.

Basically if you have social media and you follow hip hop 69 is literally unavoidable.

Also he has enough Balls to call out rappers without fear and so when they respond, they give him a platform for more attention, as theyre generally much bigger artist (The Game, Y.G. etc) Hes the epitome of dumb smart
