Jordan Petersons Scary IQ Statistic




Cliffs:

- Military dug heavily into IQ research for war efficiency purposes.
- Found that people with an IQ of 83 and below were a liability. They create more problems than they're worth.
- Peterson states that reasonably applied to the general populace that equates to 1 in 10 people.


With that in mind i considered IQ across the board was likely on a bell curve. Which would mean that half the people in the USA are almost cognitively worthless. I think it's also reasonable to assume that the top 10-15% of the population throughout the ages from the invention of the bow and arrow, to agriculture, to the industrial revolution, to the internet age ... are responsible for carrying the human race and making it the dominant species. And that the rest of the people have done little to nothing. Completely explains how in every organization/company 90% of the people are rotters that add little to no value while the other 10% are responsible for most of the growth/output.

In ‘Brave New World’ they talk about an experiment done on Crete where people all bred to be super intelligent live there. The society collapses pretty fast.

But, flip side of that, things are so advanced nowadays that the bottom rung intelligence people are being put out of work as there are less and less pure brute force jobs to do.

What i find crazy is that unlike the military, the USA in general does not seem to try at all to seek out kids/teens with high IQs that are bored out of their minds in high school and unchallenged. I knew a few people growing up that were extremely intelligent, but had zero mentors/guidance. So instead of finding the cure to cancer or inventing something that changes the world, they're just a typical 9-5'er.

I am from africa and i dont know how to math but I know how to kill a giraffe and make things from every part of its body. Do you?

MY dad can take apart an engine and rebuild it. Can you?

Ppl are smart at differnet things and the make a test to determine how smart you are is kinda hard IMO.

You could teach a rocket scientist how to point a gun at a big dumb giraffe and kill it in like 10 minutes, or how a car engine works in a weekend. You will NEVER teach someone with sub 80 IQ to how to put a satellite into orbit. They are literally incapable of learning how to do so

I'd be careful with taking anything Jordan Peterson says seriously, I know he's the flavor of the month for people that are pretty clueless about what he talks about and are impressed with his vocabulary and how charismatic he is but basically: he’s just using big words, and his observations are actually either just truisms or are provocative but empty.

i don’t think you know what iq is boyo...

One of the greatest mathematical genius, with one of the highest recorded Iq, was from some bumfuk poor village in India with no education whatsoever.

Having an iq below 80 literally means you’re mentally handicapped.

Are there uses for those people? Sure. Are they a liability in certain situations when tasked with certain responsibilities? Absolutely.
