I'm the complete opposite and it can occur that I literally change gears more than once per second for several seconds. I'll sometimes alternate between 2 gears several times until I decide on the most efficient one. I have the gear changers that are 2 buttons/paddles so it makes it effortless to change speeds without having to move my hand.
I'm also always on the big ring on the front except for very steep off road climbs, so while I may change my rear gear hundreds of times on a bike ride, I likely change my front gear about twice a year.

I went from wanting to basically light the saddle on fire and throw it away to now being in love with it - i wouldn't be able to go back to a normal saddle.

You like to ride bikes? Fukkin' welcome to the club!
just got my wife a new Synapse. She's been begging for a "pretty red bike that goes fast" for ages. She's hysterical. It's nice that she lets me make all the technical decisions, she just provides color requirements, bike purpose, and she has her own little knick-knacks she likes (SRAM road shifting, for example, because she's a munchkin and the SRAM levers fit her hands better)

IN! Been cycling to work, 15 miles each way, 4 day’s a week. Quads are back to juicy! Gotta ask though, I’ve dropped leg day completely since starting again, is cycling enough?
I’m looking for a saddle that won’t make my junk go numb on rides over 20 miles, any suggestions?

Just switched from a Selle Superflow, touted as being very good at reducing numbness, to a Specialized Power Saddle. Big improvement for me.
The Selle Superflow did a OK job but dug into my soft tissue a little much due to the narrowness of the long nose.
The Power Saddle is wider, but shorter and feels very nice. Just rode it on a 100 mile after only having it for 3 days, no numbness, a bit sore on the sitbones as thats where it places most of the weight. My sitbones need to HTFU. Soreness went away after 2 days, rode on day 3, no problem.
If you get this Saddle, have the store measure your sitbones. They make 3 sizes. I figured I'd be a small since I am a short guy. I was a medium.

Looking into it now. I just read about how bad the numbness is. I’ll take a look at both and maybe try both. Honestly I don’t even rock cycling shorts cause I can never get the junk comfortable, switch to just sweats and briefs to keep things in place.
Thank you btw.
Thank you btw.

[img]https://i.imgur.com/JhE5DPG.jpg[img]
looking sick. I also really really like the new propel advanced (disc). Seems like it comes with a fair bit as far as new bikes go and I cant find any new bike from any other manufacturer that gives you as much for the price. Still bloody expensive but nevertheless still tempting
those are going relative "cheap" on ebay but not sure about taxes and delivery to Canada. Those run small so make sure u size up or at least buy from a place that u can return it in case it doesn't fit right.
Canada has so few options for this, basically i have to order it i think. And sizing is tough. I bought a large castelli aero race 5.1 jersey and the waist portion is huge and bunches up on me, but the shoulders fit just about perfect. The XL castelli bib fits my legs but then they run too far down my leg. I was thinking that I might go with a medium in this because of the jersey issue. ultimately not sure though =\

Think you of the fact that a deaf person cannot hear. Then what deafness may we not all possess? ~ Dune
We need a new ideology with the core values of reason, honesty, science and secular progress over the older traditions of religion, superstition and dogmatic faith that have long defined humanity. We will never be free to progress and advance until the last stone from the last church is cast down onto the last priest. And every equivalent.

Is it true you can't buy those plastic discs that go over the crankshaft to prevent your pants from getting covered in chain grease? My LBS said that's not a part that's sold which I find very stupid as it's probably one of the most likely thing to break.
Mine cracked last year and started falling off while on a ride and jammed my crankshaft, figuring I could buy a new one for under $5 I forced to smash the part to pieces and free the crankshaft.
When I went to buy a new one a few days later I was told that part isn't sold, had I known I wouldn't have intentionally destroyed it.
So am I stuck getting black pant bottoms when I ride in pants from now on or what?

saw lot of roadies who overtook me easily but looked like seasoned pros with aero bikes...i was very impressed with the speeds they were achieving.
there were lot of steep slopes with long descents..and it was fun to challenge myself and figure out gear shifts...i realized i was using too much of leg muscles and later switched to lower gears that shifted effort to my lungs....legs & calves are super sore...next time gonna make sure i focus on building cadence.
i also realized that my 7 speed struggles a lot when i am operating at higher speeds..as each shift makes big jumps i am unable to achieve comfortable RPM/cadence when accelerating..its either too much peddling ..or too slow peddling..and big effort shifts to my leg muscles again to accelerate...definitely made me realize limitations for having less than 10 speed on rear...otherwise for climbing its great as bike has super low gears.
