The same happened in this movie. Hulk was just "Hulk Smashing" but Thanos had some legit bad ass boxing skills.

Can we talk about Thanos?
What's everyone's take here?
IMO, he's my favorite Marvel villain (and I'm a fan of Loki). This was a tight movie (did not ****ing feel like nearly 3 hours) but they were able to jam so much pathos into his backstory in such little time. Really, before this, we haven't gotten anything out of the guy beyond a neat scene with Ronan back in GtG1.
They really sold him well, someone who is both capable of terrible horror but they added quite a lot of nuance to him. Who wasn't shocked when he killed Gamora? Part of me identified with his cause, even if it meant just randomly slaughtering 1/2 of all sentient life, he has a point. We see what happened to his homeworld (all dead) and, apparently, his approach worked perfectly with Gamora's people (who are now thriving).
It's a comic book movie and an over-stuffed one already at that, but they established that he kind of has a point. He's not in it for personal ambition, I got no sense he derived any pleasure from it and yet he's cruelly able to end lives. A very odd dichotomy for a character, one which made him very interesting.
Is anyone upset at the strong deviation of his goals from the comics? I have no problems with it at all. Honestly, the courting Death and hoo-ha stuff from the 90s wouldn't have translated well and I actually much prefer this take on the character.
No idea if he used the powerstone in the fight. He probably was.
Without the stones, we know he made Ronan **** his pants, but Ronan with the blue one no longer feared Thanos, so Thanos base-level is probably somewhere between those versions of Ronan... which I don't think is anywhere near strong enough to beat the Hulk so easily.

For those that read the comic, do you think the introduction of the Red Skull was a little nod to Lady Death? He legit looked like the grim reaper... I wonder if that was intentional

glad some *******s actually saw this, been holding onto spoilers for two days.
anyway pretty dope movie. poor little Vision got straight cuckold at the hands of the bull Thanos. brb your girl literally blows your f-cking brains out and you explode into nothing only to have time rewound and you get cucked by the bull and your head turns cuckold white after the bull takes what is his.
Thanos' gigantic purple cock reigns supreme then he kills your chick. The ultimate cuck from the ultimate bull.
I understand the snap and it's concept but the fading away thing kind of took away the violence that is Thanos. I wish he merked more of the main characters. Feels like they're just sent off into a parallel world or place in time. doesn't feel like they "died"

As for him using the power stone, I assumed he was. Either way there are some big strong mofos in the Marvel universe who made angry hulk look like an ant.
I am really curious how this ends though, will they go comic version or some random new direction (Adam Warlock was teasted anr Nebula is a live). People in my theater didn't even know that was Captain Marvel that fury paged lmao.

My favorite joke in the movie was when Peter Dinklage said something along the lines of “You might be killed” (to Thor), then Thor replies “unless I die” and then Peter says “yes, that’s what being killed means...”
I was laughing for a minute straight after that... anyone have the exact quote? Lol

Marvel keeps getting Thor better and better, the characterization of him. Ragnarok showed that Hemsworth is a funny ****ing guy, but this movie balanced his inherent charm and comedy with the gravitas Thor should command.

I think Strange has a spell on the time stone which is one of the reasons why he gave it up for iron man other than “ end game, it’s the only way”
Remember when maw tried taking it strange said “ ever try breaking a dead mans spell? It’s a bit tricky” something like that.
I think that’s why the infinity gauntlet exploded

They made Thor that more Shakespearian style you saw in everything bit Ragnarok. It wasn't bad though considering he lost EVERYTHING so it made sense.

Interesting that 100% of the original Avengers survived Thanos’ snap.
I’m 100% sure that all the “dusted” people will be brought back to life. Not sure about Gamora, Vision, Loki, Heimdall, etc.
Red Skull was played by a different actor... was not Hugo Weaving. I thought that was interesting.
I hope Heimdall was able to transport most of the Asgardians off the ship. We only saw a few of them dead. That would be a waste of Korg and Valkyrie.
We know the Captain Marvel movie takes place in the past. That’s who the page was for in the post credits scene.

don't know how people have the confidence to shoot a film like the avengers and not make sure they're in the best shape of their life...
