It wasn't just the Avengers. If you watch the post credit scene-even regular people were being turned to dust. Its half of every living being in the universe being wiped out.

I love how everyone got a shot at Thanos (lol even Black Widow towards the end), But Strange is a certified badass especially his fight on Titan.

strange could be the most powerful avenger that showed big time with how well he was countering thanos, people didnt give him enough love in his movie but i knew going into this he'd play a bigger role

At one point during their fight, did Thanos throw a black hole at Strange? Is that what turned into the butterflies?

So many things cross my mind about this movie

first, where was valkyre ? she was on the ship at the end of thor directly leading into the mass killing that went on there..only to not be there when the movie started

second, i guess we will never get a beta ray bill on screen? his face was on planet not hulk, and thor scooping up his tools i guess thats in for him

third, why was hulk hiding this movie? was it because he got wrecked or was it because the writers didnt know what to do with him this movie to keep the threat of thanos that much more present? i think if hulk and thor were on the ground fighting thanos, thanos would not have a chance.

maybe i was alone in this thought, but maybe the people that turned to ashes are actually sent somewhere else while the people we seen on screen after the fact are left to die? ironman and cpt america are both at the end of their contracts, they took the whole gaurdians of the galaxy other than rocket for example

i find it hard to believe that cpt marvel would be able to unfuk this situation. they'll basically create her to be 10x as strong as wonder woman which will not sit will with some folks (me)

-Its assumed that valkyrie and Korg (the rock dude) died either by the hand of Thanos or from the ship exploding, which is kinda phucked up because that means all of the events from Thor: Ragnarok were for nothing. In the comics the ship makes it to earth and the Asgardians make a new home in Norway.

-You answered your own question. Hulk felt shame being defeated to easily.

-the characters vanishing were at random. Even regular humans in cities and Wakandan soldiers were being turned to dust. Remember, its half of every living being in the universe.

RE: Valkyrie and Korg + other asgaardians...i know the ship exploded, and thor was last man standing, but i thought I heard him say at some point in the movie Thanos killed half his people? which would track with Thanos' goal of eradicating half the population.

I also heard a theory that the ones who dissolved into ash were the ones who actually survived, while the ones who remained actually died/will die. Not sure I believe it though

Thanos did this when he got the gauntlet before. He realizes how boring it is to just destroy everyone like this and brings them back srs. In the next film he brings everyone back cause it's boring and lonely. ( also death still does not love him ) Thanos was not born a bad man, he was molded to become bad because of other bad people treating him wrongly including his mom. . Basically they will try stall and trick thanos, and find a opening to take the glove off him as long as he is wearing the glove they can't actually just kill him straight up.

Thanos pain all stems from being ugly/ deformed. Everyone wanted to bully him cause of that, even his own mom. I'm actually glad thanos ended her what a pathetic and terrible mom. She is the one that caused all this in the first place. If she was loving and accepting he would have had a chance to be a good man.
I just want to share the knowledge I have obtained throughout my life and hopefully change someone's life.

You seem perceptive, so I'll ask you (but anyone can answer), but were any of Thanos' minions turning to ash?

On one hand, killing your own dudes seems ridiculous and wrong, but on the other hand, Thanos struck me as someone who absolutely does not compromise. Makes me think that when he ended 1/2 of life, he didn't spare even his own people.

Valkyrie was dead on the ground, Thanos henchmen stepped over her but yea they said half. So some might have escaped.

This movie is nothing short of 9.7564/10 when you see how it's constructed and consider:

- The amount of characters they had to juggle (they make every scene and transition work well)
- Pairing of the right characters to make scenes work (not one character feels out of place when there are multiple major characters in a scene together)
- Humor (particularly timing, so well done. They could have dialed it back just a bit imo, even though it all works well)

I genuinly have no major flaws with this movie whatsoever. Couple little things here and there but it doesn't take away from the experience. Can we also appreciate the 10/10 Thanos CGI work?

Not sure how many of Thanos’ people survived the battle.. As for killing them, he killed Gamora, so i’m guessing the others dying won’t bother him.

He killed Gamora because he had no other choice.

What I am wondering is, is Thanos so strict that he would enforce killing 1/2 the universeeven on his own people? For no other reason that it's the fair thing to do? That everyone is held to the same judgement?

Would he give the thousands or maybe upwards of millions of his henchmen and various weird monsters a pass for serving him -- or would they get a 50/50 shot at surviving like everybody else?

Either way, I can see it as making sense to me.

Rewatching GoTG1, Thanos' interactions with Ronan, it's clear he despises him and his villainy and only tolerates him to serve his purpose. I wonder how Thanos truly felt about someone like Maw (the Squidward guy) who served him loyally but was a blood-thirsty psychopath? He was upset when he was gone, but is seemed like a very business-like relationship. The only being we see him have any connection with is Gamora.

Anyway, just musing. I suspect half of the remaining Thanos footsoldiers were wiped along with everyone else but I didn't notice or think to take note in the moment as I watched.

I actually thought they were made out to be pretty damn strong, as the only times they were capable of killing them, 1) he attached one of the hulkbusters gauntlets to the dude and flew him into the barrier, disintegrating him. and 2) blindsiding the guy as he was about to take out Vision's stone, and spearing him through the chest. The rest of the time they'd fight them, they were always outnumbered, and always held their own p well.

yes he *had* to kill Gamora (sp?) but only to achieve his endgame goal of culling half the universe's population. He didn't have to kill her for any reason other than that, so it leads me to believe he wouldn't ahve an issue killing half of his constituents. particularly when he was torturing gamora's sister just to get some info out of her. not too sure on the backstory, but I assume he had some level of connection to both, with them being sisters and gamora being his adoptive daughter.

Josh Brolin absolutely nailed it as Thanos. Great acting. I agree with the humor could have done with a bit of dialing back, it did get a bit too much.

Already counting down the days until May next year for Part II.

How can hulk not take a hit to the dome but captain america is fine? How about scarlet jo fighting a supernatural entity and can block a weapon attack? Isn't the force of this super creature enough to throw a car across the city, but can't break the defense of a 120 lb woman?

2019 shaping up to be a good year. Finale season of GoT, more winning with Trump and Avengers 4. Can hardly beat that.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
