Legit thought that was the greatest way to end the movie. You see people sighing and everything because they all lose their precious characters. Obviously there will be a way to get them back - they're going to milk Black Panther and Spiderman before they end that series.

I like endings like this where it's not "feel good". It sets up the second one nicely.

As other miscers have said, I really hope Captain Marvel is a "save all" for this type of movie. I don't feel she will carry it well.

I'm sure Strange gave Thanos the time stone knowing that the only outcome he saw where they won, was in a sequence where Thanos had the stone in his possession. I'm sure he is two steps ahead of everyone else and might be the pivotal character in helping restore balance/time to the universe somehow.

Yeah. Tony and Cpt America will be put to their deaths though. While most will come back alive

Out of universe explanation is that the contracts of RDJ and Chris evans are over after AV4.. RDJ is getting over $50 million a movie currently and with Captain America dead, the story will follow similar to the comics with Winter soldier taking over his mantle of Captain America.

Although Spider-Man’s death for dramatic effects was longer, I didn’t like it as everyone else died faster. I thought possibly it was the suit but it seemed like black panther died faster than everyone else in his suit lol

Was Stark the only one that survived on Titan?

I wonder how he is going to get home.

Kind of reminds me of that one scene in Age of Ultron where he has that vision where everyone dies and he is all alone. Talk about foreshadowing.....

I think that's the point, he achieved what he wanted but at a significant cost.

Interesting to see how/if they manipulate the weakness next time around. No doubt Thanos is flawed and twisted, but I'm not sure if he is inherently evil. Which makes him a super complex and diverse character, you ALMOST feel sorry/agree with him and his jaded perspective on the universal balance.

I know it would have made a boring movie, but just think how easily Thanos could have beat everyone instead of having all those dramatic fight sequences.

He could have just simply turned everyone into goo like how he did Mantiss and Dave Batista earlier in the movie

The movie simply did it because of the shock factor ending and thanos not being a typical villain.

- he never loses his cool, was always calm and calculated in every situation hes in
- i was mind blown how he used tony all along to bring the stone to him. Same way he used gamora he knew from day one she'd be the one to bring the soul stone to him. Hes strategic as fuk

Is it possible that Thanos himself is one of the people who "died" since it's supposed to be random? I mean he just seemed to automatically vanish from the scene in Wakanda.

Going to go back and read the thread after I post my brief thoughts, so far I'm the only one with a semi-problem with the end.

Overall definitely one of the best Marvel movies hands down. The opening scene was the best one in a Marvel movie. Up until the end, I thought it was the best Marvel movie. It had threat, a good bad guy, good performances, and the humor was actually funny for once. BUT - I really hated when everyone started to disappear. Killed all the threat in the movie for me. When Loki died at the beginning I was like, "OH ****, anything can happen here." At the end, I was like, "Uhhh yeah there's no way they are killing Spiderman and Black Panther after they just had their first movies." And now I am pretty sure everyone will live, and I won't be shocked if Loki and Gamora are back too by the end. The "sad, people are dying" ending was ironically the least sad/threatening part of the movie and took away a lot of it for me.

Yep. Strange even said that they are now in the "End Game". Strange changed his moral compass of sacrificing Parker and Stark to protect the stone to saving them. Then choose the path of self sacrifice to win in the end game.

Very cool. But very revealing that all that faded away will just pop back in the next movie.

Thanos actually handicapped himself when he wiped out half the universe destroying the gauntlet. He is no longer a god in power tier and can now be defeated. Also time stone has a price people saying they will use the stone to bring everything back, soul stone and time stone heavy use to bring back that much life and reverse time would have a heavy price. Even if they are able to go back and bring people back thanos is not going to die by flawless avengers victory. They will need another gauntlet and a user powerful enough to wear it and use it.

Also using the time stone upsets natural order and creates alternate time lines. Using it will cost, there is no way to have a happy ending vs thanos. Sorry folk

On top of that nobody would ever be able to beat him with the stones he had currently.
Were the stones destroyed though? I Saw the gauntlet burnt up, but the stones still looked active afterwards. Meaning that all he had to do is reforge it with the power of the stones. If he wanted.

Because he has the space stone, giving him the ability to teleport at his own will. Hence why he could planet hop so quickly and get around with ease.
